Two quick-thinking police officers helped deliver a baby boy after they were flagged down by the father-to-be.
PCs Paul Howarth and PC Anna Drake were on a routine patrol in Manor Park Road, Harlesden, when they noticed a man frantically running towards them after his wife had gone into labour in the back of their car.

The mum-to-be was in the final stages of labour and both officers realised that there wasn't much time before the special delivery. They took decisive action after they realised that the ambulance wouldn't get there in time and prepared to deliver the baby themselves in the back of the car.
Baby Ankamah Joshua Junior was delivered safely by the officers and both mother and child were taken by ambulance to a London hospital.
PC Haworth said: “The best thing about being a police officer is you don’t know what is around the next corner, My colleague PC Drake was immense last night, cool and calm under pressure in the best traditions of the metropolitan police.”
PC Drake said: “This was the last thing on our mind when we were pulled over. Upon checking on the condition of the pregnant female and with the baby crowning, PC Haworth, a father of three realised we were never making the hospital and baby was coming now. I'm just glad we where there to assist and relieved everything went so smoothly.”
