Jay-Z & Beyonce's Long Time Bodyguard Dies After Police Taser Incident


Norman Oosterbroek, a bodyguard to various celebrities including Nelson Mandela, Lady Gaga and others, was killed by police officers in Miami, Florida, according to multiple reports.
On Monday (September 2), a 43-year-old man identified as Norman Oosterbroek, who has reportedly been a bodyguard for Nelson Mandela, Jay Z and Beyonce, among others, was tasered and killed by Miami police after allegedly intruding a home in Pinecrest, Florida, a suburban village in Miami-Dade County.

Mansion owners Markus and Christiane Jung reportedly called law enforcement at 10:45 p.m. on Monday to report that a nude intruder was on their premises, as per Miami New Times. Police arrived at the mansion to find Markus Jung and Oosterbroek fighting.
During the fight, police say they saw Oosterbroek "ingesting an unknown substance," as per the Miami New Times. Reports indicate that Oosterbroek violently resisted police intervention before they tasered him, according to the Miami New Times. After tasering Oosterbroek, he was transported to Baptist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Huffington Post.
"We're still awaiting toxicology reports this morning," Det. Javier Baez, a Miami Dade Police Department spokesman told the Miami New Times on Wednesday (September 4). 
Police report to NBC Miami that he was likely under the influence of some drug:
"It’s possible that he may have been under some type of a narcotics. Again, he was observed swallowing, ingesting some kind of substance, unknown substance that is,” Miami-Dade Police spokesman Det. Javier Baez said of Oosterbroek.
The police department suspiciously will not reveal how many times they tasered him.
We're told Norm, who created RAD protection agency, is survived by his wife whom he married in 2009, April McDaniel, and they have one child together.   We're also told Norm had 2 kids from other relationships.
The Miami Herald says April, who was leasing the $500,000 South Florida estate with her husband, declined.

NBC Miami also reports that neighbors are asking for explanations surrounding the incident.
Oosterbroek reportedly founded the RAD Security bodyguard agency, and was a bodyguard for Jay Z, Kanye West, Drake, Lady Gaga and other celebrities and public figures, according to Miami New Times and other outlets including NBC's Miami affiliate NBC6 and Miami Herald. In 2011, Variety profiled RAD Security and said it was "one of the largest global music celebrity protection firms.
