Carlie Lawrence, 32, of Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, was sitting with her
children making bracelets when her eldest son accidentally pinged a
bangle into his seven-year-old brother Kyle's eye. The incident caused a
blood clot - leaving him temporarily blind in his left eye - and Kyle
is now awaiting surgery in a bid to restore his eyesight. Kyle's ordeal
was revealed after Dr Anne-Marie Houlder, a senior GP in Stafford, urged
parents to be vigilant. 
Four children and two adults are dead after a shooting Wednesday night
at a suburban Houston home. Harris County Precinct 4 Assistant Chief
Deputy Constable Mark Herman says the shooting happened in the 700 block
of Leaflet in the Spring area and apparently arose from a breakup in
the family who lived in the house. The suspect, a male, was finally
arrested around 10 p.m. local time after a three hour stand-off with
police, pictured right. SWAT vehicles rammed the car he was sitting in
after he drove into a cul-de-sac, pictured left, following a 30 minute
car chase.

WARNING GRAPHIC VIDEO Pregnant Kristin Dickerson of Rosenberg, Texas,
was nearly two weeks overdue when her water broke in the early hours of
June 28. Husband Troy was rushing his wife to the Texas Medical Center,
but still decided to film the happy event with his GoPro camera. When
they finally arrived at the hospital Kristin stepped out of their
vehicle but was then unable to move and delivered their baby there and
then. A boy, named Truett, was born at 2:05 a.m. just as a team of
nearly 10 nurses rushed to assist them.  |
