Thief Caught In Lagos Using MTN Sim Card Attached To Sim Pack To Withdraw Money From People’s Account

According to reports, Maxwell Chuks was caught somewhere in Lagos using MTN sim card attached to a sim pack to withdraw money from other people’s account.

The method he uses was to insert the sim pack into the ATM machine and type a code embedded on each account number written on a piece of paper for him. Found in his possession were a paper bearing account numbers of different people, MTN sim pack, and a pen.

It looks like robbery has now gone digital.

Digital thieves in town, Nigerians please beware of who get or access your bank account infos. This man by name Maxwell Chuks was caught some where in Lagos, using Mtn sim card attached to a sim pack to withdraw money from other people’s account, the method he uses was to insert the sim pack into the ATM machine and type a code embedded on each account number written on a piece of paper for him. Found in his possession was a paper bearing account numbers of different people, MTN sim pack and a pen.

Yesterday, A 6-man syndicate that specializes in robbing people of their phone and then turning over the SIM to hackers who hack into their bank details and then transfer their funds, have been arrested by the Police in Lagos.

Parading the group, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal disclosed that the syndicate comprised of three splinter groups visiting choice locations in the state to rob members of the public of their phones.

The activities of the group were brought to the attention of the Decoy Team of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) when they stole the phone of one Yinka at a birthday party in Egbeda area.

They worked on the phone’s SIM card and transferred N1,153,000:00 from her account. Yinka only got to know of the transactions when she inserted the replaced SIM into a new phone.
