Police in New York have arrested a teenage mom after her nine-month-old baby was found crawling on a busy roadway.
A disturbing video which was widely shared online shows the little girl attempting to cross a busy street before good Samaritans stopped their cars to attend to the crying baby.
One of the men then picks the baby up and takes the infant to his car, while a man is heard telling another man to call 911. Soon after the baby's mother showed up, and the distressed lady was heard in the video yelling: “That’s my baby! That’s my baby! Oh, my God. That’s my baby!”
Confirming the disturbing incident, Utica Police Department Lt. Bryan Coromato told the Observer-Dispatch on Saturday that officers saw a video on Facebook of the infant alone in the street Friday night.
Coromato says the child's 17-year-old mother who has already been arrested told investigators the baby was in the back seat of the car when she left the area but "a short time later" looked back and didn't see her baby.
The teenage mother was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, while her baby was taken to a hospital.
