There was a mild drama at the Ojodu Police Division, Lagos State on Saturday over the arrest of a woman, Mrs. Joy Idenyi, by policemen from far away Bauchi State Police Command.

Idenyi’s arrest was prompted by a warrant from a Bauchi Magistrate’s Court B for the alleged abduction of her niece, Patience Joseph. Patience’s father, Joseph, made the application that led to her arrest.

Reacting to her arrest, Joy said “When I got the call that my husband had been taken to the Ojodu Police Station. I rushed down there to discover that Patience’s father was there. The policemen had come with a warrant for my arrest – for allegedly abducting Patience.”

Sinkhole swallows 8 cars at the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky

 A sinkhole formed Wednesday under the National Corvette Museum, swallowing eight cars, according to its executive director.

Some time before 5:30 a.m. CT, the sinkhole started to form, authorities believe. By 5:39 a.m. power in the museum went off and police were called, Executive Director Wendell Strode said. The incident originally was thought to be a fire.

When emergency personnel got to the museum, they discovered a sinkhole 40 feet wide and 25 to 30 feet deep, Strode said.

"It's pretty significant," he said.

The museum issued a statement that said six of the damaged cars were owned by the museum and two - a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 Blue Devil - were on loan from General Motors.

2 Women, Baby Shot Dead In Mushin Lagos Gang War

The gang war in Mushin area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria has escalated as suspected cultists invaded a street in the area and shot dead a woman bread seller and another woman with a baby on her back.
Incessant gun shots were heard at Showunmi Street off Isolo Road around 9:45 p.m. on Monday and residents ran in all directions to avoid being hit by stray bullets.
It was gathered that a bread seller at Showunmi middle junction, opposite Ewenla Street was shot in the forehead and fell into a gutter and died immediately.

Thousands of people have flocked to a small town in northern Israel to view a statue of the Virgin Mary that residents say 'weeps' oil.

Members of a Christian family from Tarshiha, near the Lebanon border, said they believe to have witnessed a miracle in their living room.

The statue's owner Osama Khoury said that his wife Amira came home to find the statue inexplicably  'covered with oil'.

‘Why I Became An Armed Robber’ - Pastor’s Son Reveals (Photo)

A 26-year-old man in Lagos has been arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad over allegations of theft.
Omoboye Ogunyemi, said to be a pastor’s son, was apprehended along with a suspected member of his gang in the Ojo area of the state.
Ogunyemi is said to have attributed his participation in armed robbery to his financial situation and his wife’s pregnancy.
Explaining his role, Ogunyemi, who is described as a pastor’s son, said: “Though it is my friend – my gang leader – who lured me into armed robbery, the major thing that gave me the courage to rob is the financial problem created by my wife’s pregnancy. I don’t have a dime to take care of her now. My father, a pastor, is late and my mother is a farmer in Bayelsa State.”
Regretting that the “bad spirit” in armed robbery did not allow him to save any money from the three operations he participated in before he was caught, the suspect said: “If I 
regain my freedom, I will never be involved in armed robbery again. Obtaining money by false pretences is better than armed robbery because in obtaining, one does not need gun but brain and tongue.”

The deceased, who left 14 children and two wives apparently led a very lonely life in his later years. He lived by himself in his 4-bedromm semi-permanent house. Matembo reportedly lived alone after ordering his wives Kanze Ngala and Janet Kakala (deceased) to vacate his house after his children allegedly neglected him 15 years ago.
 It seems the late Matembe wanted his funeral to be his final closure with his request to lock the house and bury the keys with him. The local elders were put off by the man’s unorthodox request.
