The news is everywhere that popular Nollywood actress, Ini Edo’s marriage to US-based businessman, Mr. Phillip Ehiagwina, had broken up. The news was initially received with mixed feelings. But some people, mostly fans of the actress, could not believe it until we gave an update on Thursday.

Sources close to the couple said the breakup was due to allegations of cheating and distrust between Ini and Phillip. Also, they accused the groom’s family of aiding the dissolution of the marriage because the beautiful actress did not give birth to a child for her husband.

In 2012, an Abuja-based taxi driver, Mr. Imeh Usuah found a bag containing N18 million in his car after the close of work. Usuah returned the bag to the owner. Two Nigerian students, Eveshorhema Samuel-Alli and Ibukunoluwa Ruth Oladeinde, who found cure for mouth odour with walnut, represented Nigeria at an international competition in the United States, where they presented their discovery and beat other competitors to win Life Science Award of $1,000 in Medicine and Health Science. British aid worker Alan Henning has been beheaded by ISIS fighter Jihadi John in a video posted online by the terror group.

Before he is killed, a gaunt and tired looking Mr Henning gives a short forced speech in which he blames his execution on Parliament's decision to launch strikes against Islamic State in Iraq.

Mr Henning, a 47-year-old father-of-two, was kidnapped on Boxing Day last year as he delivered aid to Syrian refugees.

The clip, which is in English with Arabic subtitles, shows Jihadi John stepping forward to cut Mr Henning's throat before the screen turns black, then shows his body lying on the desert floor.

Another sad news broke today of One of the yoruba singing twins, popularly known as the Oshadipe twins who died today in Lagos! Taiwo reportedly died after getting better from a brief illness in the early hours of this morning. Her sister said Taiwo had fallen ill about three weeks ago and had been treated at a Lagos hospital. She was getting better and seemed okay when she went to sleep last night only for her not to wake up.

Taiwo of the Oshadipe twins is dead. She reportedly died in the early hours of the morning in Lagos two days ago, and while details of her death are still sketchy, reports say she battled a brief illness.

The Oshadipe twins started singing together as kids and are known for their hit track "Dide Olorun mi" with some of their music featuring stars like Yinka Ayefele. As well as their music, the twins have tried their hands at acting, appearing in Sister Sister, Wale Adenuga's SUPER STORY.

Taiwo last updated her Facebook page on October 1st when she wished her Facebook friends a happy independence day. Taiwo got married just recently and gave birth to her first child, a son back in 2013. May her soul rest in peace.

Popular dancer kemi Omotoyinbo who got married on the 13th of September, 2014 at White House Event Hall, Toyin Street, Ikeja has passed on. A 17 year old Bihari girl took a knife to a tantric who allegedly tried to #rapeher for a second time and cut off his penis.

The man, who is also the girl’s uncle, is currently being hunted by detectives who applauded the young woman’s bravery and courage.

Police in the Madhepura district of Bihar said the young woman, believed to be aged either 17 or 18, had been raped last month by her uncle, who is known in the local area as a tantric and who performs rituals. When he allegedly tried to assault her a second time, she was prepared , having armed herself with a knife.

Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State on Thursday formally dumped the Labour Party and returned to the Peoples Democratic Party, saying his decision was taken in the interest of the nation.

He made the formal declaration at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, at an event presided over by Vice President Namadi Sambo and witnessed by the President of the Senate, David Mark, as well as the PDP leaders from the South West.

How is your relationship with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo?

My relationship with him is good, it is cordial.

Not long ago, Obasanjo wrote an open letter about some things he was not impressed with in the President Goodluck Jonathan administration. Now, you’re openly supporting Jonathan for a second term. Who do you think is right between the two?

That is a difficult question and as far as I see, it is a bit sensational. Look, I am over 50 years old and I should be able to make my own decisions independently. That does not mean that the relationship that I have with the ex-President is any less cordial on account of that. I disagree with my own dad and uncles, so, it has nothing to do with my relationship. In any case, remember I was his adviser. On who is right between the two you know the buck stops on the President’s table. He is the President of Nigeria today and in that position, he is exposed to criticism, condemnation and things like that and President Obasanjo knows that he held the position before and how he was the butt of criticism. A lot of criticisms were unfair.

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau dismissed Nigerian military claims of his death in a new video obtained by AFP on Thursday and said the militants had implemented strict Islamic law in captured towns.

“Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath,” Shekau said in the 36-minute video, adding that his group was “running our… Islamic caliphate” and administering sharia punishments.

This touching video shows a team of rescuers as they work tirelessly to save a dog after it fell into hot tar in western India. The animal was left unable to move after it slipped into the thick, sticky substance and it cooled - coating its fur in a solid layer of tar, pictured main. The rescuers, who worked over two days to free the animal, described the tar as being 'as hard as rock' but he was back to normal at the end, pictured inset.

A passer-by spotted the dog as it lay on the ground covered in dirt and twigs, and phoned a local rescue centre based in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

A Manchester father, desperate to raise $1 million to send his daughter to medical school in China, has put his family house up for sale, saying that he would do anything to prevent her from experiencing the hardships he endured growing up.

"Is because it never sell at the time why you come here and see it now," George Lindsay told the Jamaica Observer on Friday.

"I put up the sign out at the front of the road and quite a few people came and look at it. But I never had the registered title. If I had the registered title, I would be a happy man, because it would have been sold and her schooling taken care of," he said.
