Tears flowed freely in Ekiti State on Sunday following the announcement of the death of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Funmilayo Olayinka, who died at 52 on Saturday after a protracted battle with cancer on Sunday.
The deputy governor’s parents, Chief Festus Famuagun, and her wife, Grace, were inconsolable when Governor Kayode Fayemi and his wife, Bisi, visited the bereaved family at Isato area of Ado Ekiti on Sunday.
The deceased’s mother, who is 80 years old, rhetorically asked the governor, “Kayode, where is Funmi? Kayode, where is your deputy?”
The governor, who was moved to tears by the question, intermittently removed his glasses to wipe tears from his face with his handkerchief.
While the governor tried in vain to console the father, his wife also made attempts to console the mother but it was in vain.
The governor, who was dressed in dark outfit, did not grant interview while leaving the residence of the Famuagun.

Wesley Snipes released

Wesley Snipes was released from a Pennsylvania prison today after serving 2 years and 4 months of a 3-year federal sentence for income tax evasion.

Snipes, 50, was convicted of failing to file tax returns in 2008, but he remained free for another 2 years while appealing his conviction. After exhausting his appeals, Snipes entered McKean federal prison in December 2010 to begin serving his sentence.
According to the Associated Press, Snipes was involved with an anti-government group that challenged the government’s right to collect taxes.
Snipes ultimately blamed his legal problems on Eddie Ray Kahn, a tax expert and self-styled minister who advised Snipes and 4,000 other “clients” on ways to avoid paying their taxes.
Snipes earned $37 million between 1999 and 2004. A vast portion of his income went to Khan’s ministry.
Snipes was accused of failing to file returns for at least a decade. U.S. prosecutors say Snipes owed millions of dollars in back taxes.

The Biological Clock

If there is an alarm that freaks women out, it is the biological one. It has no snooze button (thank heavens for that) so you cannot insist you will be cuter for five more years. When the alarm of your biological clock goes off, your goose is cooked. The only possible 'snooze' button you get is called cosmetic surgery. And the problem with this 'snooze' button is the amount on the bill that you get slapped with. You can rest assured that this bill is huge enough to make you worry so much that you will end up with more wrinkles than the ones you were trying to get rid of in the first place.

This is mainly because for you to be able to pay for cosmetic surgery, it will cost you an arm and a leg.

4 NFL players to come out

Brendon Ayanbadejo, who was cut by the Baltimore Ravens, still praises the organization for “laying the groundwork” for gay players to come out of the closet.

The Ravens terminated the linebacker’s contract Thursday. But the married father-of-2 praised the Ravens for supporting his self-appointed role as the NFL spokesman for gay marriage.
“The Ravens have been backing me, they knew my stance for years and have been facilitating me and organizing me with LGBT and set me up with Equality Maryland,” Ayanbadejo told The Sun. “They helped me,” he continued, “If they didn’t like what I was doing, they would have cut me a long time ago,” he said.
Ayanbadejo said the Ravens have laid the groundwork for as many as 4 active NFL players to come out of the closet. It is assumed that all 4 gay players are on the Ravens roster.

But they are in for a rude awakening if they thought the Cuban government would give them a pass.

Okah: MEND vows to launch fresh attacks

IN response to the imprisonment of Henry Okah in South Africa, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) says it would commence coordinated attacks from Friday morning.
MEND, in a statement sent out to the media on Wednesday by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, said the coming attacks, which it code-named ‘Hurricane Exodus’ would be in response to a false testimony employed in convicting Okah.
According to the group, the prosecution in the case against Okah, one of its leading motivators in its campaign to secure self determination for the oil-rich but impoverished Niger Delta, had used falsehood, in the name of MEND, to secure the sentence against Okah.
