103-Year-Old Groom Marries 99-Year-Old Bride After 80 YEARS Together (PHOTOS)

It is a love story that began six years before the outbreak on World War Two.

Now, eighty years on, a Paraguayan couple who fell in love and moved in together in 1933 have decided to cement their relationship – by getting married.

Jose Manuel Riella, 103, vowed to give himself to Martina Lopez, his 99-year-old bride, during a ceremony attended by dozens of their family members.

As guests wiped away the tears, Mr Riella, who wore a smart dark suit and a light blue shirt, sat in his wheelchair and smiled at his wife, who wore a long white wedding dress.

The wedding was held at the couple’s home in Santa Rosa de Aguaray where an altar had been erected for the event.

Plan For Temporary Migrants From High-Risk Countries To Pay £3,000 Bond Before Coming To Britain Finally Suspended

A plan for a £3,000 bond to deter illegal immigrants has been dropped, after it was vetoed by Nick Clegg, the Home Office confirmed last night.

Under the proposals, temporary migrants from high-risk countries – such as Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Ghana – would have paid a surety before coming to Britain, and have it seized if they failed to leave when their visa expired. 

The proposal, a Tory manifesto commitment, was to be tested later this month.

In a speech in March Mr Clegg tried to take credit for the idea but later disowned it.

Backbench Tory MP Peter Bone said: ‘Nick Clegg has made it quite clear where the Lib Dems stand on immigration. 

'This is yet another example of the problems of being in coalition with the Lib Dems who you cannot trust with anything they say.

APC Moves To Build Grand Coalition Of Old, Current Govs

The All Progressives Congress is moving to build a mega coalition of former and serving state governors as a political bulwark in its quest to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party in 2015, THISDAY has learnt.

The party is said to be talking to all the governors from 1999, when one of the national leaders, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was governor, to date in a bid to persuade them to join the coalition.
Those being invited include former governors Obong Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), and Donald Duke (Cross River).

Former governors Attahiru Bafarawa (Sokoto), George Akume (Benue), Abubakar Audu (Kogi) and Ahmed Sani Yerima (Zamfara) among others, are already in APC.

One of the old governors, who confirmed the move by APC, said even though he had not joined, he had been invited by the party and was giving it a thought.

Chizoba Michael  Nwobodo’s inordinate ambition to get rich quick has left two families in deep sorrow and anguish. The 24-yr-old  gruesomely murdered two young boys and harvested their vital organs for money making rituals.

He’s a kidnapper, armed robber and ritual killer who hails from  Umualaguroyi Uhueze Nenwe village in Aninri West Local Government Area of  Enugu State.  He committed the heinous crimes between August and October this year.

In the first incident, which occurred in Ohuhu, Abia State on August 7, 2013, he abducted Emmanuel Nwobodo, the nine-year-old son of his uncle, Nnamdi Nwobodo, immediately the boy returned from school at 4.00pm on that fateful day. He took the boy into a nearby bush, beheaded him and proceeded to harvest his  kidneys, lungs, heart and genitals. Done with the horrible act, he calmly dumped the boy’s dismembered body on the bank of a nearby river.

When evening came and the boy had still not returned from school, the parents started searching for him. Chizoba even joined in the search for the unfortunate  boy. When he could not be found, his parents reported the matter to the police at Isikwuato Police Station, Abia State.

ADORATION GROUND TRAGEDY: Obi, Ngige, Umeh trade blames [Photos]

Anambra State Governor Peter Obi; leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, yesterday, traded blames over last Saturday’s stampede at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ground at Uke in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State in which about 28 people died.

While APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Chris Ngige and the party’s interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed blamed Obi for the tragedy, the Anambra State Governor and APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, said Ngige is responsible and should be arrested.

This came as the Anambra State government, yesterday, declared three days of mourning for those who died in the incident. In a broadcast in Awka, yesterday, Governor Peter Obi also said that he would set up a panel of inquiry to unearth the immediate and remote causes of the tragedy.

The governor, who sympathized with families of the deceased and injured, also directed security agencies to ensure that the culprits were brought to book.

Reports reaching us indicate a detachment of police officers today invaded the Kano State Government Lodge in Abuja and are holding at least 5 factional PDP governors as well as others hostage.

The five trapped governors are members of the breakaway faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) who have rejected Bamanga Tukur as their party's national leader.

Several sources aware of the unfolding situation informed Saharareporters that the DPO of Asokoro police division led the invading police officers.

 One of our sources said there was initial tension when the security detail of the governors tried to deny entry to the DPO and his retinue of officers.

Over 30 Allegedly Killed At Holy Ghost Adoration Ground After Gov Peter's Obi Political Campaign Caused A Mayhem!

Many worshippers were feared dead, and many injured following a stampede at a religious crusade in Uke, Idemili local council of the eastern Nigerian state of Anambra.

The number of the dead could not be ascertained, but the police said they have launched an investigation into the cause.

A TV report said as many as 25 people died, with about 200 injured. But a government spokesman said 17 people died.

“We have visited the hospital in Nkpor and found 17 corpses that were brought in from the scene of the disaster,” spokesman Mike Udah said.

The stampede occurred at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ground in Uke early today.The monthly service was organised by the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry.

Pictures of two women who reportedly appeared at two different university Halloween parties naked and were posted on Twitter have gone viral.

The first picture was of a blonde woman who showed up at the Arizona State University Halloween bash in her birthday suit, to the shock and surprise of many.

A picture of her naked was posted Monday on the university's unofficial popular and anonymous Twitter account, @ASUConfessions, prompting a widespread mixture of delight and criticism.

APC Leaders In Yola To Woo Another PDP Governor

The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday invited Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa and his supporters to join the party.

The invitation came a day after the APC leaders also invited Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso and the governor of the neighbouring Jigawa state, Sule Lamido.
