Aregbesola Leads Omisore In Osun Governorship Election As Youths Celebrate APC/Aregbesola's Win (photos)

Incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State is in the lead in Saturday’s governorship poll, initial poll analysis shows. Collation of results of the keenly-contested election is continuing, and a final winner is to announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, early Sunday. 
But results tallied from the Local Government Areas by reporters and media establishments, observers and some residents of the state puts Mr. Aregbesola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ahead of his challengers.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of planning to subvert Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State by declaring a false result. The APC said while its candidate, incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola, leads in the polls, there are plans by the PDP to declare Iyiola Omisore as winner.

Ebola Scare: Two Feared Dead, 20 Others Hospitalised Over Excessive Salt Consumption

At least two persons have been feared killed and 20 others hospitalised in various hospitals in Plateau State after consuming excessive quantity of salt and bitter kola to prevent Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) attack.

The two, according  to a source in Shendam who spoke with our reporter on phone, were rushed to the hospital by their family members after they suddenly collapsed in the morning, having consumed too much of salt over night. They later died of high blood pressure in the hospitals.

The driver of the car and two occupants —Managing Director of Police Microfinance Bank Alhaji Hassan Gidado and the Manager of the bank’s Abuja branch, Mr. Tunde Banwo — were killed by people suspected to be members of the Ombatse group and buried with their car.

Residents of Nasarawa State were still in shock yesterday over the discovery of the bodies of two bankers and their driver.

They were allegedly ambushed by suspected Ombatse boys, who took them to the bush, killed them, set them ablaze with their car and buried them with the car by the riverside.

Ebola: NNPC Shuts Down Clinic in Lagos

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Friday announced the indefinite closure of its Victoria Island clinic in Lagos State following a suspected case of Ebola virus.

A statement issued by the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, stated that the suspected Ebola virus case was on admission at the clinic.

He said, “The management of the NNPC has announced the indefinite shutdown of its clinic in the Muri Okunola area of Victoria Island, Lagos, following a suspected case of Ebola virus on admission at the clinic.
