A footballer has died after a celebration went tragically wrong in India's Mizoram Premier League. Peter Biaksangzuala died in hospital on Sunday after falling on his head while attempting a somersault after scoring for Bethlehem Vengthlang FC - a club based in the north east of the country. The 23-year-old midfielder scored a 62nd-minute equaliser against Chanmari West FC in Tuesday's league encounter and celebrated acrobatically - in a manner similar to record World Cup goalscorer Miroslav Klose.

Nigerian Singer Faycol Dies During Own Baby’s Naming Ceremony

A musician, Feyitayo Oyetade, who is famous in her base, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has died.

The singer, who goes by the stage name, Faycol, died on Tuesday, the same day as her newborn baby’s naming ceremony.

Faycol reportedly slumped in the bathroom as she prepared for the ceremony. She died before any medical attention could reached her.

The 25-year-old got married earlier this year to her music promoter and manager and recently gave birth to a boy.

The remains of the musician were buried on Wednesday in Sagamu town, Ogun State.

Darek Fidyka, 40, is believed to be the first person in the world to recover from such chronic injuries after receiving pioneering treatment from University College London. The fireman from Bulgaria severed his spine after being stabbed four years ago, leaving him paralysed from the waist down. Scientists used cells from his nose to repair the broken link on his back in a medical achievement hailed as more impressive than putting a man on the moon.

Darek Fidyka, 40, is believed to be the first person in the world to recover from such chronic injuries, in an achievement hailed as more impressive than putting a man on the Moon.

Mr Fidyka’s spinal cord was sliced in half during a stabbing four years ago, leaving him paralysed below the waist.
