Bridegroom Arrested In Ghana Over Robbery Allegations as Bride Fainted

A wedding ceremony taking place at Takoradi Aldersgate Methodist Church in the Sekondi/Anaji, Ghana on Saturday, April 2, 2016 was cut short after policemen stormed the church's premises and arrested the bridegroom over suspected armed robbery. The arrest is in connection with a robbery case at Aniamote, a community in the Wassa Amenfi District in the Western region.

The 30-year-old suspect Aaron Ackah,(pictured) is alleged to have robbed a Chinese Small Scale Miner of an amount of Gh¢18,000 after inflicting knife wounds on his left hand.

In a recent interview with some journalists, the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, said: “Kaduna State, more than any state in Nigeria, if you take out the Yobe, Borno and Adamawa axis,  which suffered from Boko Haram insurgency, has suffered the most from death and destruction of property due to misuse and abuse of religion.

More people have been killed in Kaduna from the words that people have said. Some people have argued that there is freedom of religion, of course; Section 38 is very clear: We must not have a state religion, every Nigerian is allowed to practise their faith or even if they  do not have any religion  at all. 

However, they forget Section 45 which says that you can regulate any human right if it’d affect the right of others. You can practise your religion but not in a way that abuses the right of another. There is nothing in this law that is not in conformity with the constitution.

A 12-year-old girl,  Queen, who was allegedly raped serially by her father, Bamekpa, with her four-month-old pregnancy crudely aborted, has said she could not count the number of times Bamekpa allegedly forcibly had canal knowledge of her (HERE).

There has been public outrage against the incident, which occurred at Imiringi, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, since it was reported by The Nation, with many people calling for Bamekpa’s arrest and prosecution.

Fast-rising Nollywood actor, Ceejay Perez has lost his life after getting involved in a fatal motor accident yesterday.

Lagos Driver, Conductor Rob and Brutally R*pe Job Seeker in Lagos

An innocent job seeker in Lagos has been robbed and brutally r*ped by a driver and his conductor in the Costain area of Lagos. 
The two men identified only as Akeem, and Sodiq allegedly robbed and raped the girl at Costain, Iponri area of the state.

It was gathered that Akeem and Sodiq, along with two others still at large, had picked the victim, Mercy (pseudonym) from the Obalende area, and were supposed to head for the Victoria Island where the victim reportedly had a job interview. But, the suspects allegedly diverted to the Costain, Iponri area, assuring their victim that they were only taking a different route to the island.

Mercy, who hails from Otukpo, Benue State, and holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education, unaware of their plan, believed them. When the bus got to Costain, under the bridge, the four allegedly robbed Mercy of her Automated Teller Machine card, her purse and other documents. The suspects also allegedly raped the lady before driving off.

It was learnt that after the robbery, the victim went to report the matter at the Iponri Police Division. But the police were unable to arrest the suspects until last Tuesday when members of a vigilance group in the area, who were also informed about the matter, nabbed the driver and his conductor and handed them over to the police.
