As the race for the office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, hots up, former President Goodluck Jonathan again lashed out at the All Progressives Congress,  ‎APC led administration for running a government of lies and propaganda.

Speaking in Abuja yesterday while receiving in audience with one of the contenders to the Office of the National Chairman of the Party, Professor Tunde Adeniran and his campaign team, Jonathan declared that he made to say that the PDP did well from May 29, 1999, till May 29, 2015, when it handed over power to the APC, saying since then till date the APC Administration has done nothing for the nation.

FRSC Begins Operation “show Your Licence’’ In Lagos

The Lagos State Sector Command, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has commenced operation “Show Your Licence’’ across the state to arrest drivers without a valid license.

The State Sector commander, Hyginus Omeje said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Lagos on Thursday.

“The state command, this week, inaugurated operation ‘Show your License’ campaign across the state to arrest motorists who had no valid driving license.

“We are doing this as part of our ember month programmes to sensitise drivers on the need to possess valid licences before driving,’’ he said.

This is the story of a popular market in Plateau State here dogs are massively sold to interested people. 

This ancient market, situated in Dawaki town of Kanke local government area in Plateau state, has earned resounding fame across most parts of the North-east, North-west and South-south Nigeria as the country’s largest dog market. 

Here, young and average dogs, mostly locally bred with visible signs of malnourishment are seen chained by mostly women who trek the almost two-kilometer distance from Dawaki town or other Ngas speaking communities every Thursday ,to sell them off at a price. The market, originally established to focus on livestock, today boasts of having one of the largest and most lucrative baobabs (Kuka) leaves section which when purchased in bulk, are often sold off in other parts of the state as well as other northern states like Kano, Kaduna, and Borno. Though still a local market, Dawaki has become so fundamental that locals say it serves as a window that connects the North and South, Nigeria with other neighbouring Sub-Saharan African countries. 

General Malu, Nigeria’s Former Chief of Army Staff Is Dead

General Victor Malu, a former Nigerian Chief of Army Staff is dead.

Malu, according to reports died in a Cairo hospital in Egypt on Sunday.

Malu chaired the tribunal that tried General Oladipo Diya and other officers for attempting to overthrow the Sani Abacha regime in 1997.

He was the commander of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) peace-keeping force ECOMOG from December 1996 to April 1998 during the First Liberian Civil War.

Lady Narrates How Her Aunt Was Murdered by Boyfriend - Says 'He Chopped Her Body Into Pieces And Burnt Them To Destroy Evidence'

Zimbabwean lady took to Facebook to narrate how her aunt, Tete Mary Mushapaidzi was killed by her boyfriend and father of her second child.

After killing her, he chopped up the body into pieces, put the parts in a barrel and set them on fire in her garage after which he went to the police to file a missing person report. Read her post below:

The Ooni of Ife Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Friday visited Umuahia, the capital city of Abia state to preach Nigeria’s unity.

Oba Ogunwusi in his quest of preaching oneness of the country renamed the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as Indigenous People of Brighter Nigeria (IPOBN), saying the youths that constitute the membership of the group should not be discarded.

Ingenious £9m Cocaine Smuggling Ring At Heathrow Airport Which Got Suitcases In To UK With Help From A Corrupt Baggage Handler

Suitcases stuffed with cocaine were seized by police as they snared a gang which smuggled £9 million worth of class A drugs through Heathrow Airport by avoiding customs.

A corrupt baggage handler helped move luggage laden with drugs from a flight from Brazil onto baggage carousels for domestic flights.

The bags would be then collected by couriers arriving on internal flights from other UK airports, who could exit Heathrow without going through customs.

Baggage handler Joysen Jhurry, 40, had already admitted conspiring to import Class A drugs at an earlier hearing.

The suspect Bridget Enchill Obeng is known to have duped over 10 suspects who have in turn reported her dealings to the police. It is believed that she has conned her suspects into paying her sums ranging from GH¢9,000 to GH¢50,000. It is believed that Bridget operates with the alias Naana and was picked up at Awoshie, a suburb of Accra after the police received a tip-off. She had been on the wanted list of the Osu, Tesano, Adabraka, Teshie and Airport police stations for nine months.

Operatives of the Nigerian Navy (NN) attached to the Operation Awatse busted a hotel in Lagos where Petrol is siphoned from the pipeline of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).The operatives also arrested eight suspects including a Police Inspector at the premises of the hotel - Glonik Hotel at 31, Social Club Road, Abule Egba.

Those arrested were Insp. Lukeman Rabiu of the Lagos Police Command X-Squad Unit, receptionist Gladys Daniel, waitress Rachael Oludara, housekeeper, Adegoke Adetunji, tanker driver, Waliu Teller, Oluwaseun Oguntoyin, Victor Vincent, 19, and Bobola Kuti, 28.

Inspector Rabiu allegedly had N1.4 million, a laptop and other valuables in his car. Sources said some police officers were already lobbying for Inspector Rabiu’s release.
