Image result for igbos and yoruba meeting
I had the privilege of attending some meetings of the Yoruba and Igbo Leaders. I was not a leader but a youth who knew how to wash his hands. At one of those meetings in Owerri, I think in 1989, I think, I listened to Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba Leaders take the likes of Mbakwe, R. B. Okafor and others to the cleaners when the Igbo said the Yoruba were betrayers, citing that Chief Obafemi Awolowo led them into secession with a promise that if the Igbo left Nigeria, the Yoruba would follow suit.

They accused him of not following up on his promise. Trust Uncle Bola Ige! He pointed to Chief Mbakwe and said, "you were there in the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu as I was. Is that statement correct?".He turned to two other Igbo and two Yoruba Leaders who were at that meeting and asked the same question, saying he had transcripts of the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu.

The native of the Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area, Rivers State, said he decided to end the lovers’ lives cruelly because his boss allegedly refused to pay his 15 months’ salary, but could afford to buy an expensive phone for the girlfriend and pay N300,000 rent for her.

He said the naval officer had promised to help him save the salary – N15,000 per month – and pay him at once so he could use the money to plan his wedding. He said he felt bad when Yusuf reneged on the promise.

Vision (eyesight): Do Women See Colours Better Than Men? If So, Why?

Well, this is a fact.

Women distinguish colours better than men. It has a biological reason.

The rear part of our eyeball’s membrane contains approx 7 million cone cells, which are responsible for distinguishing different colours. The information about colour cells in contained in women's ‘X chromosomes’.

Women have two X chromosomes where we men have one X and one Y chromosome.

This is why women can distinguish more colours and shades.

Election seasons around the world are usually filled with drama and verbal fireworks between the opposing parties and candidates. The drama includes clever statements by the candidates and their supporters, insults, dramatic visual campaigns and television adverts.

For example, in 2011, former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola said that the problem with his opponents was not their age, but the age of their ideas (J.K. Randle was much older than him). In 1995, former British Prime Minister, John Major, told his opponents to “Put up or shut up”. In 1992 Bill Clinton entered the venue of an election campaign rally holding a sign that read, “It’s the economy, stupid!" (George Bush had been talking about foreign affairs while Americans suffered the effect of an economic recession). Dan Quayle likened himself to Jack Kennedy during the 1988 US vice presidential debate and his opponent, Lloyd Bentson replied, "I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you are no Jack Kennedy."
