What Ogun Monarchs Told Jonathan About Obasanjo


At the sidelines of the commissioning of the Olorunsogo Power Plant in Ogun State Friday, President Goodluck Jonathan held a short meeting with some traditional rulers from the state.
The monarchs were led by the Akarigbo of Remoland and Chairman of the Ogun State Traditional Council,Oba Michael Sonariwo, Alake of Egbaland,Oba (Dr.) Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo,Olowu of Owu,Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu,Olu of Itori,Oba Fatai Akamo, Oniro of Iro,Oba Adebari,Olu of Owode- Egba, Oba Sowemimo and other traditional rulers,mostly from the Ogun Central Senatorial District.
Feelers from the meeting said several monarchs raised the various attacks on the former Nigerian President,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, after he announced his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party.

Nigerian Opposition Leader Buhari Arrives in London on ‘Charm Offensive’


Nigerian opposition leader Muhammadu Buhari has flown to London in an attempt to ease Western fears about his leadership in the event that he succeeds in winning the upcoming presidential election.
Buhari, election candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), is up against incumbent Goodluck Jonathan in the vote, delayed until March 28 by the electoral commission on the recommendation of the country’s security services.

Islamic Cleric (Alfa) Kills, Shares Friend’s Body Parts

AN Alfa in the Badagry area of Lagos State, Fatai Afobaje, has been accused of conspiring with some security men in his area to kill his friend, Rafiu Suleiman.
Police sources said after the 40-year-old was dead, Afobaje, along with five others, shared his remains among themselves for ritual purposes.
It was gathered that what remained of the late Kwara State indigene was recovered by men of the Nigeria Police Force on Monday, after an intensive search.

Borno Pastor Corroborates Amaechi, Says Jonathan Paid Pastors N7bn Through CAN To Campaign Against Buhari

A Borno-based Pastor, Kallamu Musa-Dikwa, has corroborated allegations by Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, that President Goodluck Jonathan gave pastors across the country N6bn to vote against the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in the presidential election.
The pastor has alleged that the money that was given to pastors by the President was actually N7bn and not N6bn as alleged by Amaechi, who is also the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation.

Musa-Dikwa, who is the Executive Director of the Voice of Northern Christian Movement, told journalists in Kaduna on Thursday that the said money was channelled through the Christian Association of Nigeria.
He said the CAN got the said money (N7bn) on January 26, 2015 and disbursed N3m to each State Chairmen of the CAN across the country.

Jonathan Rules Out Another Poll Shift

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday doused fears of another postponement of the general election, saying the polls date would not be changed.
He stated this at the Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the commissioning of four new vessels to boost the capacity of the Nigerian Navy.
The President, who expressed satisfaction at the ongoing war against the Boko Haram sect, emphatically said the military will rout the terrorists, thereby providing conducive atmosphere for elections to be conducted in the northeast part of the country.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has distributed copies of reproduced video and audio clips of alleged electoral malpractices in the June 21, 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State to its governors for broadcast on their respective state televisions as documentary for the public.
The audio clip, which was recorded by one Captain Sagir Koli, who was at the time of the election an intelligence officer serving with 32 Artillery Brigade, which covers Ondo and Ekiti states, went viral when it was first released on YouTube over two weeks ago.

A man who bought a watch for £3.80 from a thrift shop later sold it for a whopping £22,650.
Zach Norris, from Phoenix, Arizona, was looking for a trolley for his golf bag at the Goodwill store when he recognised a $5.99 (£3.80) watch as a rare 1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre.
And Mr Norris said he was later able to sell the timepiece for $35,000 (£22,656) on Hodinkee.com – and the buyer even threw in a Mega Speed Master watch, valued at a cool $4,000 (£2,589).

APC Senators Walk Out Of National Assembly, Alleging Presidency Is Ready To Shift Polls Again


Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Senate yesterday raised alarm of a fresh plot by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to postpone the rescheduled general elections slated for March 28 and April 11, 2015.

The senators, who walked out of the plenary to address the National Assembly correspondents in the Senate, alleged that the Presidency in collaboration with PDP were planning to arm-twist the electoral umpire in the country to canvass fresh postponement using the card reader as an excuse.

Obanikoro Allegedly Confessed He Was Present At Ekiti Rigging Meeting


Contrary to earlier denials, embattled ministerial nominee, Musiliu Obanikoro, has confessed to several Senators in Abuja that he did participate in an election-eve meeting in Ekiti in June 2014 in which a group of politicians and government ministers met with a Nigerian army general to rig the governorship election in favor of Ayodele Fayose, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The meeting, which is now known as “Ekitigate”, was secretly taped by an army captain who was subsequently forced to flee for his life.

‘I’m here’ was him basically telling his followers that he’d arrived at the destination of his suicide. His final photo was a pic of his watch &he wrote “Time to see if my watch is waterproof” A few minutes after posting the pics and messages, he jumped from that rail you see in the pic into the Detroit River. His body was found a few hours later.

There was a bloody clash between All Progressives congress(APC) and Peoples Democvratic Party(PDP) in Edo State on Tuesday, following the discovery of 500 permanent voter cards (PVCs) at the residence of a chieftain of the PDP.

Trouble started when the PDP stalwart was caught trying to use someone’s ATM card to make withdrawal at one of the new generation banks and was arrested by security operatives who later handed him over to the police.

Jega Tells Senators He Can’t Guarantee Elections Will Hold March 28

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Attahiru Jega, has told Nigerian federal lawmakers he could not guarantee the 2015 general elections will hold on rescheduled dates in March and April.
At a meeting with Senators Wednesday, Mr. Jega said he could not commit himself to the “sanctity” of March 28 and April 11 – dates for the rescheduled Nigeria’s general elections.
He said the electoral commission could not guarantee aspects of the poll that are beyond its control.

The nude corpse of a lady was discovered a day after Valentine's day on Sunday Feb. 15th at Okwu village in Umunneato autonomous community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

The corpse had bruises all over, especially around the breasts and private parts, leading people to believe she was brutally raped and murdered. The identity of the victim or her age is still unknown. The people who discovered her body called the police who came to remove the corpse.

Jega told the chamber that INEC was prepared to hold the vote on the original polling day, February 14, but was persuaded to support a delay by guidance from the country’s security chiefs. National Security Advisor Sambo Dasuki and military top brass said soldiers would not be able provide election security nationwide because they were fighting Boko Haram in the northeast.
Asked how he would respond if the security agencies requested a further delay, Jega referred to a constitutional provision that requires elections to be concluded at least 30 days before May 29, when a new government must be sworn in. “Every Nigerian knows we want elections to hold… within a constitutional timeframe,” he told senators.

Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State on Tuesday emerged from a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, giving an indication that the Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders would beg former President Olusegun Obasanjo who dumped the party on Monday.
Lamido, who is the North-West Coordinator of Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign, told State House correspondents that Obasanjo remained the father of all.
He said Jonathan and all the state governors were creations of the former President.
He explained that it was only appropriate that “when a father is angry with his children, the children should beg him.”

Major stakeholders in Bayelsa State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have insisted that the state Chairman of the party, Col. Sam Inokoba (rtd), must be sacked.

The crisis rocking the party took a dangerous dimension following the suspension of Inokoba by the State Working Committee (SEC) over allegations of financial impropriety including the diversion of N70million donated to the party by the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke.
The SEC was said to have sent a recommendation to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party that the chairman should be sacked.

A bystander handed Officer Paul Watts a large rock, which he used to shatter the car’s glass and help her escape the calamitous situation in Auckland on Tuesday.
Police in New Zealand used a stone to smash the window of a car that tumbled into the water at an Auckland wharf Tuesday, dragging the trapped motorist out of the sinking vehicle and lifting her to safety.
Police later estimated the 63-year-old, whose name wasn’t released, was within a minute or so of drowning, they told the New Zealand Herald.
The horrified driver was was trapped inside of a BMW  after the car jumped the parking lot wall and landed in the Waitemata Harbour about 3 p.m. local time, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Speaking at the Uganda Media Centre on Tuesday, Rev. Fr. Simon Lokodo, the State minister for Ethics and Integrity said he was arretsted by Interpol. He, however did not disclose where he was arrested from.

Nigerian Pastor Arrested With Hard Drugs

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended the resident pastor of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim at Agodo-Egbe, Ikotun Lagos, over unlawful attempt to export of 174 kilogrammes of narcotic drugs to South Africa, the agency said on Monday.
NDLEA said the suspect, Prophet Michael Raji was arrested following the interception of the drug at the cargo section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) during pre-shipment examination.

Man Rapes 80-Year-old Pensioner In Her Own Home


A man who raped a pensioner in her own home has been convicted of the attack.

Robert Lashley, 32 (15.02.82) of Blythe Road, W14 was found guilty of rape at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, 19 January, following a trial.

The court heard that Lashley had targeted his 80-year-old victim last year in Shepherd's Bush as she left her home to go to a newsagents at 07:30hsr on 16 August 2014.

CCTV showed Lashley loitering outside the victim's block of flats where she lives on her own. As she came back he followed into the communal entrance and then forced his way into her flat. He then raped her.

The actor who is also known for his criminal roles in Nigeria home movies said he is now a born again Christian and regrets all his acts in the past.

Reports indicated that the actor, now a born-again Christian, who is based in Ghana, talked in an interview about how he went to Zambia for six months in April 2011 without his wife and two kids, to take part in plays teaching about HIV and AIDS. While there he enjoyed life, sleeping with about 80 women.
