Makinde rejects 1,800 bags of rice donated by FG, says it’s pest-infested

Dr. Debo Akande, the Executive Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Agribusiness, disclosed this in Ibadan, the state capital after the state committee on the distribution of relief materials and palliatives inspected the warehouse where the grains were kept. Akande said the committee found out that the rice was unhealthy for human consumption.

“The state government discovered that the grains of rice were infested by the weevil and other pests, and took the decision in the interest of residents of the state,” he said. “We initially assumed that it was just some part of it that was infested but some commissioners from five or six ministries came with me to inspect and we realised that it is not just some but quite a lot of them were infested.” Akande, however, said the return of the 1,800 bags would not affect the state’s distribution of palliatives, noting that the state has purchased enough rice for distribution to the citizens.

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence leave at the end of a briefing about the coronavirus in the James Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House, Friday, April 24, 2020, in Washington. Trump didn't take a single question amid an uproar over his comments about disinfectants

President Donald Trump avoided questions at his White House briefing Friday after giving conflicting responses on his proposed idea of treating coronavirus with disinfectants. Trump said he was being 'sarcastic' when he asked government officials to study the idea of injecting disinfectants as a possible cure for coronavirus.

He said he wasn't being serious when he asked his coronavirus task force coordinator and another official took a study the proposal and claimed he was jousting with reporters - only to later say government scientists were already working on the idea. 'I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen,' the president said - after his comments, delivered at length and no hint of a smile during his live televised press briefing, brought blowback. An image of his medical adviser Dr. Debbie Birx's horrified reaction (inset) went viral, suggesting she did not think it was sarcastic. Disinfectant manufacturers rushed out statements urging people not to consume their products and scientists warned of serious harm if people did.

Mad Rush For Sites Where Lagos Clients Order For Ladies

teen prostitution

Prostitution is illegal all over Nigeria. But it has forever been a free trade zone. However, the social stigma that comes with patronage is getting Lagos men to be ingenious. This report found out how they now do it, without leaving traces.
Seyi (surname withheld as agreed) works on Lagos Island. He isn’t yet in the class of the so-called Island Big Boys, but he is holding his own. You will expect a bevvy of ladies at his beck and call, but he is catching his fun elsewhere, with little or no stress, as long as there is cash to pay for “his” goods from his favourite online prostitution platform.
“For me, In message (an app) is the most favourite of all. I have met countless girls there and had sex with them all. All I do is to visit the app and see if there’s any new shawties (a general codename for girls on the platform), especially the ones looking for hook-ups. If there is any, I would invite her to my house and pay 20k after I must have had sexual intercourse with her.

Oil price crashes to MINUS $37 a barrel for the first time in history as demand dries up due to pandemic and producers PAY buyers to take it off their hands

Crash! US crude futures turn negative for first time in history ...

The price of U.S. oil crashed into negative for the first time in history Monday as demand dries up amid the coronavirus crisis.
In the latest never-before-seen number to come out of the economic coma caused by the pandemic, the cost to have a barrel of U.S. crude delivered in May plummeted to negative $37.63. It was at roughly $60 at the start of the year.
The drop came because US oil producers are expected to run out of places to store their oil within the next two weeks, meaning they are now paying buyers who have storage space to take barrels off their hands.
The price of Brent Crude, the international oil benchmark, also suffered heavy losses but remained above $20 per barrel because it is less affected by storage issues.

He had already banned travel from China as the COVID-19 outbreak was spreading from the city of Wuhan.
