Lagos State Govt To Sell Lake (Lagos-Kebbi) Rice @ N13,000 Naira From Next Thursday Dec 15

The Lagos State Government on Thursday said it was ready to roll out Lake Rice on Dec. 15 to Lagosians at N13,000 per 50 kg towards the Yuletide celebrations. Mr Sanni Okanlawan, Special Adviser on Food Security to Gov. Akinwumi Ambode, made the disclosure in Lagos during the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) National Agriculture Stakeholders Summit.

Okanlawan said that sales of the rice would be made at all the 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state to ensure proper distribution.

A Traditional Ruler In Oyo State Dies In Car Crash Days After Court Arraignment

A traditional ruler in Oyo State on Wednesday died in a road accident after his car collided with a truck. The monarch–the Amunijio of Ijio in the Iwajowa Local Government Area of the state, Oba Okunade Adegoke– was said to be driving himself from Iwere-Ile to his kingdom around 10pm when he ran into the truck.

A source said the monarch was the only occupant of the car, adding that he died at the scene of the accident.

He said, “From what we could piece together at the scene of the accident, it seemed the kabiyesi was trying to avoid a vehicle when he ran into the truck. Help did not come immediately and by the time he was found, he had died from his injuries.”

Murder: Landlord Testify Ibadan Lawyer Actually Stabbed Husband

The owner of the house where a lawyer, Yewande Oyediran, was alleged to have killed her husband, Adelowo Oyediran, on Tuesday told the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan that the suspect stabbed her husband during an argument.

Three witnesses were presented by the prosecution at the resumed hearing, including Chief Akinpelu Adelodun, who was the couple’s landlord in Ibadan.

Adelodun told Justice Muktar Abimbola that he was at the apartment of the couple when the argument became ugly and that he made an attempt to calm them down. He said Yewande insisted that she would injure her husband.

12 Children Rescued From Pastor’s Illegal Orphanage Home In Lagos (Photo)

Twelve children were rescued by the Lagos State Government from the custody of a Pastor, Onoyngu Chibuike, the founder of Voice of Salvation Charitable Organisation, who had been operating an illegal orphanage in Ojo since 2010.

The hands of the law caught up with Chibuike last week when one of the children took ill and was taken to hospital for medical attention.

Enquirers from the hospital about the medical history of the indisposed child revealed that Chibuike’s orphanage is not registered under the Lagos State Government.

Fraudsters Steal Millions through First Bank Lagos Police Smash Anambra Syndicate

The Police in Lagos have smashed a fraud syndicate, in Anambra, which cleared money from bank accounts by hacking into customers’ e-mails.
Four suspected members of the syndicate were arrested in Onitsha, and three in Awka for separate offences in an operation led by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
According to the police, the suspects are part of internet fraudsters that specialise in hacking into e-mail addresses and using them to send messages seeking transfer of funds in tranches to different accounts.

The Lagos State Command have arrested one Haruna Abubakar who murdered his friend and co-worker, shredded him to pieces and dumped him in the bush. The suspect and victim are co-workers in a farm in ibeju lekki, where the suspect is a guard and the victim a herdman.

On Saturday December 3rd, the suspect aged 28 years had an altercation with the victim aged 27 years. The altercation resulted to a physical fight and in the process, the suspect hauled down the deceased with a dagger, cut him into pieces, packed him in a sack and dumped him in the bush.
