Trains Collide In Southern Egypt, 32 Dead, 66 Wounded


Two trains collided Friday in southern Egypt on Friday, causing three passenger cars to flip over, killing 32 people and leaving 66 injured, health authorities said.

Dozens of ambulance vehicles were rushed to the scene of the crash, which took place in the southern province of Sohag, said a statement by Egypt’s heath ministry.

Local media displayed videos from the scene showing flipped wagons with passengers trapped inside and surrounded by rubble. Some victims seemed unconscious, while others could be seen bleeding. Bystanders carried bodies, laying them out on the ground near the site of the accident.

As the 2023 politicking begins to gather momentum, the crack between the camps of President Muhammadu Buhari and that of a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has widened, Daily Trust reports.

But while some sources admitted there are issues between the two strongmen, a university lecturer with a good understanding of Nigerian political schemings, said the purported rift was tactically created to push Tinubu aside and pave way for another candidate to clinch the presidency.

Tinubu Announces N50m Donation For Victims Of Katsina Market Fire

 

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu have announced a donation of the sum of N50million to victims of the Katsina Central Market Fire.

He also paid a visit to the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir.

Tinubu made the announcement on Wednesday during a condolence visit to the Katsina State government.

American Idol contestant, Funke Lagoke was rushed to the hospital after she fainted and fell flat on her face after her performance with fellow singer Ronda Felton on Monday night's episode, IgbereTV reports.

The terrifying incident happened while she was receiving feedback from the judges after her performance with her fellow contestant and duet partner.

The pair performed ‘Tell Him’, a song written and recorded by Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion.
