APC Postpones Ekiti Governorship Primary Election After Thugs Invaded The Venue Of The election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the Ekiti State Governorship primary.

This postponement comes after thugs on Saturday invaded the venue of the election in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

The thugs during the exercise broke the ballot boxes.

However, no date has been announced for a repeat of the primary.

Governor Dankwambo of Gombe State reached out to Nigerian pop star, Davido on Twitter asking for his corporation in mobilising youths to get their PVCs ahead of the forthcoming 2019 elections.

35-year-old Raliat Sanni, who was gruesomely murdered with her head and hands cut off by her cherubim and seraphim lover, was laid to rest at her residence, 38 Ilupeju Street residence, Wasimi, near Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday, April 30th.

Raliat was beheaded and her hands cut off by her boyfriend, Oluwatobiloba Ipese, the senior pastor of Holy Gathering Evangelical Church of God, Papalanto and his accomplice, Daniel Sopeju, a prophet in a white garment church. The clergyman after killing her buried her remains inside his church.

Disturbing photos of a lady who was allegedly beaten and stripped off her belongings by a Taxify driver in South Africa has circulated on the internet.

According to the sister of the victim, simply identified as MaDlams, her sister was fortunately saved by passersby who witnessed the assault.

@MaDlams narrated the incident on her Twitter page and shared photos of her severely beaten sister. The photos showed the victim whose eyes were bloated and bloodshot.

However, she did not mention the name of “her sister”. @MaDlams wrote,

Palpable anxiety hung over Ekiti State yesterday as the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepared for its governorship primary scheduled to hold today.

The primary election is scheduled to hold at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Dallimore area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

A total 33 aspirants, including former governors Chief Segun Oni and Dr. Kayode Fayemi, are slugging it out in the race for the party’s ticket.

Also eyeing the ticket are Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Gbenga Aluko, Hon. Femi Bamisile, Dr.Wole Oluyede, Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Ayo Arise, Dr. Wole Oluleye and Dr. Adebayo Orire.

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a contact committee for the purpose of aligning with other political parties ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The committee, which is headed by a former governor of Cross River State, Mr. Liyel Imoke, will also explore the possibility of tinkering with the name and insignia of the PDP.

Some key stakeholders, particularly prominent chieftains of the PDP that defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014, are said to have insisted on a change of name, as one of the conditions to rejoin the PDP.

However, residents said that the deceased could have had a premonition of his death, as he had confided in his mother and some friends two days ago of a threat to his life by his wife.

A thief in Tanzania handed himself over to police after a bag he stole from an old woman got stuck on his head and couldn’t be put down.

The man, identified as Frank Buhet, grabbed the heavy sac belonging to an old woman and made for his home. However, when he got home, he couldn’t bring it down from his head try as he may. He tried several means to bring the bag down, even lying on the floor but it stayed put. When nothing worked, he decided to surrender to the police.

Offa Robbery: Police release photos of four of the robbers, announce N5m reward for anyone with information that will help in their arrest

The Nigerian police has declared wanted four of the robbers that participated in the bloody bank robbery incident that took place in Offa on April 4th. The state police command released the photos of the robbers from the CCTV footage of the bank.

The Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army yesterday paraded 36 armed herdsmen who were intercepted by troops of the 117 Guards Battalion Keffi along the Abuja-Keffi road on Sunday.
Another group of 56 herdsmen were arrested at the Dantata check point between Kuje and the Abuja airport.

The 36 herdsmen were arrested by troops at the Keffi check point at about 4:30 pm Sunday in a Diana Truck and a Toyota Camry Salon car, the spokesman of the brigade, Captain Bashir Jajira, told newsmen yesterday.

54-year old pastor arrested?for raping a 9-year-old girl in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 54-year-old pastor, Udoh Okon for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl.

Okon, the Pastor of Christ Abiding Church, Bankole Street, Famous Bus Stop, Shomolu, was arrested by the gender section of the command yesterday following a case of defilement filed by the victim’s mother, Peace Effiong.

According to Police Commissioner, Edgal, the woman reported that she noticed her daughter was acting strangely, adding that she checked the child on April 13, while she was sleeping and saw semen coming out of her private part.

A South African lady named Zolile Khumalo was shot amd murdered by her boyfriend last night.

Incident happened at the Mangosuthu University of Technology where 21-year-old Zolile Khumalo was a first-year quantity surveying student.

She was allegedly shot dead by her 23-year-old boyfriend, an ex-student at the institution’s student residence in Lonsdale in the Durban CBD
