Sometimes, making a difference can be shockingly simple.

A man living in the city of Hail, Saudi Arabia, came up with a brilliant idea to feed needy people in his neighborhood while sparing them the "shame" of begging,according to Gulf News.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, installed a refrigerator on the street in front of his house and invited neighbors to donate their extra food, so that hungry people could come and eat.

The idea gained international attention after religious scholar Shaikh Mohammad Al Araifi praised the act of charity on his Twitter account with a picture of the fridge. "I've always said the people of Hail are generous. A man puts a fridge outside his house for leftover food; an indirect act of charity for the needy," he said, in atranslation provided by the BBC. "Oh how I love you, Hail!"

A man who had his genitals removed seasoned them before cooking them for five paying dinner party guests, it has been claimed.

Mao Sugiyama, 22, who is asexual, had voluntarily undergone surgery to have them removed.

But the illustrator took his frozen penis and scrotum home from hospital and organised a grim party.

He charged guests around £160 per person to eat his severed genitalia in Tokyo, Japan.

They were garnished with mushrooms and parsley.

Before tucking into dinner, guests sat down to listen to a piano recital and take part in a panel discussion, CalorieLab.com reported.

Mao, who goes by the nickname HC, had initially considered eating his own penis – but decided to serve them up instead.

Never one to turn down the chance to suffer for his art, the Chinese performance artist had one of his own ribs removed - and wore it as a necklace.

In order to perform the operation, held under the supervision of a doctor, he cut a metre-long gash from his neck to his thigh, and filmed it on a camera.

Incredibly, he underwent the entire procedure without any form of anaesthetic.Chinese blogger and art consultant Mélanie Wang described the oeuvre, called 'One-Meter Democracy', on her blog.

She wrote: 'Before the execution of this operation, there was a pseudo-democratic voting procedure.'

There were indications yesterday that the 230 female students abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from the Government Girls’ Secondary School, GGSS, Chibok, Borno State, have been sited at the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, by the Special Forces of the United States Marines.

The girls who were abducted on April 14, were part of the 250 students boarded at the school for the West African School Certificate, WASC/ Senior Secondary School Certificate, SSSC, examinations, triggering world-wide condemnations.

This was even as more US military officials arrived Nigeria yesterday to join local officials in the search for nearly 300 school girls taken captives by the Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, and the defence department, Pentagon, said.

A married head teacher and a colleague have been suspended after an alleged love making tape of him in his school office was circulated by pupils.

The 30-second video, which was posted on YouTube, depicts the head teacher’s closed office door with the sound of groans
coming from behind it.

Graham Daniels, 50, is understood to have been suspended while school governors investigate a complaint from parents.

The video is believed to have been filmed on a camera phone at Bryn Tawe School in Swansea. However, it is not known when it was filmed.

One teenager at the school said: “The video shows the door to the headmaster’s office. You can hear two people in the room making love.

“Pupils are working hard to gain qualifications and to better ourselves through the education system.
“All that has been disturbed by the events of the past few weeks.”

The Nigerian military has been recording a string of victories recently against the deadly Boko Haram sect in response to the recent upsurge in the activities of the group.

On Thursday evening, a top leader of the sect was captured by soldiers, and about 70 insurgents were killed by at the sect’s stronghold in Gwoza Hills, Borno State.

Apple is close to buying Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion, according to a report late Thursday in the Financial Times. Bloomberg, The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have since confirmed the report with their own sources.
The deal would mark Apple's largest acquisition to date by far and comes at a time when other tech giants like Google and Facebook are spending billions on acquisitions like Nest and WhatsApp, respectively.

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, whose country's effort to subdue Boko Haram has been largely ineffective, declared in a speech Thursday that the terror group's abductions of schoolgirls would be its undoing.

"I believe the kidnap of these girls will be the beginning of the end for terror in Nigeria," he said at the opening of the World Economic Forum meeting in Abuja.

The abductions and an attack this week that left more than 300 people dead have focused worldwide attention on Nigeria's fight with terrorists.

The world still doesn't know what happened to the 276 girls kidnapped almost a month ago, except that Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said he plans to sell them.

17 People Arrested in Drug Raids in Oldham - Greater Manchester Police

16 Men and 1 Woman have been arrested in raids as part of an operation to crackdown on drug dealing in Oldham.
They were arrested when officers from Greater Manchester Police raided 14 addresses just after 6am today, Wednesday 30 April 2014.
Officers from Oldham’s Operation Caminada Organised Crime Unit launched the operation, codenamed Operation Alamos, as their response to community concerns that street drug dealing was a problem in the area.
This operation forms part of Operation Challenger, which is the Force’s strategy for tackling organised crime groups across Greater Manchester.
These arrests came after months of investigations by officers from the Oldham Organised Crime Unit into the distribution of heroin.
