Court Jails Two Pastors 10 Years Over Illegal Banking

Two ‘men of God’ Pastor Glory Abrefera and Reverend Vincent Okpogo have been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment each by Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court, Asaba, Delta State.  Justice Buba found Pastor Abrefera and Reverend Okpogo including their company, Mustard Seed Micro Investment Limited guilty on a four count charge of carrying out banking practice without licence. The accused persons were said to have collected over N1 billion from different individuals and organizations as deposits in an illegal banking practice. They have also failed to account for all the deposits they collected.

Tunde:  I had to change Bisi’s numbers because she needed rest, when she was ill people kept calling her for work,  it is sad that Bisi died the way she did. One of the main issue between me and her family was that when Bisi’s sickness dragged on I went spiritual and we were told her problems were spiritual but her family didn't allow us to take her for spiritual care. I loved Bisi till she died and she loved me, what property of Bisi will I take, please go and ask about me I am from a good family background and we are comfortable, my father retired as a Permanent Secretary in Lagos and I have a thriving car business.

Tunde: All that are craps, till Bisi died she was my wife and I will forever cherish her.

Little Girl Minutes Away From Death After Contracting Killer Brain Bug Makes Amazing Recovery As Priest Started To Pray ''Last Rites''.

                         

A little girl who was minutes from death after contracting the killer brain bug meningitis has made a remarkable recovery.

A priest was called in to give Amelia Lancaster the last rites and had just started to pray when her body began to stabilise and she pulled through.

The infection cut off the blood supply to her limbs, leaving them black. Doctors managed to save her legs but were forced to amputate part of her right hand.

Now, the brave three-year-old has made a full recovery after months of hospital treatment - and has learned to walk again and even catch a ball.

Her mother Melinda, 26, said: 'That day, Amelia developed a raging temperature and was screwing her eyes up any time she was near light.

'A doctor found a spot the size of a pin-prick on her tummy that wouldn't disappear under pressure. Then a rash appeared all over her body. It all happened so fast.

'She was taken to intensive care and put on a drip but she didn't react. I was absolutely terrified and felt so helpless.

An 'aunties army' is needed to combat the epidemic of eating disorders and self-harming among young girls, a leading child psychologist has warned.

Steve Biddulph, author of the ground-breaking 1998 book Raising Boys, has become more concerned about today’s girls – and believes aunts should help bring up their nieces to increase the positive female role models in their lives.

In his previous work, Biddulph said boys were seen as a ‘disaster area’ compared to girls.

He said parents should delay their sons starting formal education and suggested an increase in single-sex classes in co-educational schools to help them reach their full potential.

A chemical found in tomatoes could hold the key to cutting the risk of strokes, heart attacks and even cancer.
Scientists have developed a pill called Ateronon which contains the chemical lycopene which is found in tomato skin and thought to be one of the main health benefits of the Mediterranean diet.
Tests had previously shown that lycopene helped unblock arteries but further trials on 36 heart disease patients found that it also boosts the efficiency of blood vessels, softens hardened arteries and improves blood flow.
Ian Wilkinson, director of Cambridge University's clinical trials unit, said: "We think these results are good news and potentially very significant, but we need more trials to see if they translate into fewer heart attacks and strokes."

How I started

I have been in music since when I was in secondary school. I used to be a member of the Boys Brigades in my hometown where I played trumpet. I started playing guitar when I was in the choir. I actually developed the talent in music when I joined FRCN in Ibadan by producing jingles for programmes and so on. This was the time I discovered I had the potential in me especially when I had the accident and I had cause to raise funds, I discovered that I could work in the music industry full time.

GENERAL Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed the circumstances surrounding his birth around 1942, saying that they were mysterious.
According to him, he was born on a Sunday when there was rain and sunshine, while his delivery was singlehandedly handled by his mother in a room at Ifewara, Osun State, a reason he was nicknamed “the tiger.”
He gave the revelation to worshippers at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, while giving a sermon on the topic: “Wonders of His Names.”

Girl, 17, Gives Birth to Conjoined Twins in Nasarawa (Photos)

On Thursday, a 17-year -old woman, Safiya Sani, was delivered of conjoined twins at the Mararaba Medical Centre, Mararaba Gurkuin, Nasarawa State.

Dr. Angela Smart the medical superintendent of the health centre during an interview with newsmen revealed that the woman was referred to the hospital at 10am on Thursday from Mararaba Primary Health Centre when they were not able to deliver her of the babies.

She said: “While we were taking the delivery, we discovered that she could not do so through her virginal so we took her to the theatre and that was where we discovered that the babies were joined.”

The President of The United States, Barack Obama has signed a rare private bill that has granted 26-year old Nigerian Sopuru Chukwuke permanent residency in the United States.

Sopuruchi who grew up as an outcast in the village of Ovim in southeastern Nigeria because the tumors that distorted one side of his face wouldn’t stop growing.

In 2001, when he was 15, his parents took him to an orphanage and abandoned him. Thankfully, he was rescued by a missionary nun, who arranged medical care in the U.S. Eleven years and seven operations later, doctors have removed the benign growths caused by the genetic disease neurofibromatosis, and have performed reconstructive surgery.
