My Dear Friends : My attention has been drawn to a story making the rounds online claiming that I am seriously sick, currently out of the country and in need of urgent prayers.
This story is baseless, unfounded and the handiwork of mischief makers. It should be ignored and discarded in its entirety. As every informed Nigerian knows, I am a Delegate to the National Conference currently holding in Abuja. I was duly accredited as a Delegate and I am currently in attendance at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja, venue of the conference.
While it is true that I recently came out of a major sickness, for which I thank Almighty God for delivering me, I have since been declared fit by my doctors and returned to my normal activities. I shed much weight in the course of the sickness – which is normal – but I am well now and only need time to re-grow some flesh. There is nothing to worry about either my health or my present stature.

A Nigerian girl of about 30 years old, and goes by the name Jessica was found dead few weeks ago in the industrial area of Italy, between Carinaro and Gricignano, near Morris bicycle factory.

The body of the deceased was found unclad and without documents for identification and two clean knives were found beside the body. Thou the body didn’t show any visible trace of violence or injuries from firearms and sharp weapons, but she may have been strangled.

An employee of a company in the industrial zone gave the alram when he found the dead body of the lady and the police were called in. I tired to reach the Aversa police department and was asked to call back for more information.

Central Bank office in Lagos on fire [PHOTO]

The Lagos State office of the Central Bank of Nigeria is on fire. The fire started at about 5:40 PM at the top most part of the building.

Men of the Lagos Fire Service and other emergency agency officials are said to have arrived the scene.

The over 50 year old building is located at the Tinubu area of Lagos Island. It is situated opposite the Stock Exchange office on Custom Street, Marina.

The building used to serve as the bank’s headquarters before the Federal Capital Territory was moved to Abuja.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The professor’s husband, Chike Akunyili denied the reports in a press statement, stating thus “For the record, Prof. Akunyili is not hospitalised and there is no anxiety whatsoever over her state of health. It is true that she was sick LAST YEAR but she is well now. She is currently visiting her children in the U.S. and is living an active life. ..The story on Prof. Akunyili’s alleged sickness, therefore, lacks substance. It should be disregarded by the public.”

Update - Ibadan Forest Of Horror: Govt Takes Over Land - More Victims Narrates Their Ordeal.

Owners of the Soka, Ibadan “forest of horror” lost it all yesterday, with the state government acquiring the land.

Some victims of the bestiality were recovering at the hospital.

But it was learnt that one of them, a woman, died on the way to the hospital on Saturday.

Crowds of curious residents besieged the State Hospital, Yemetu in the Oyo State capital to see the rescued victims.

The hospital had a hectic time controlling the crowds who remained resilient for hours in their determination to see the victims. But they were prevented by security personnel to ensure that the victims had some privacy and medical personnel attending to them were not distracted.

Some of the victims are yet to be fully conscious of their new environment. Others have responded to treatment.

Two of them – Nafiu Shittu and Titi Adeyemi – gave some meaningful responses, suggesting that they were mentally stable.

Gunmen Kill Four In Attack On Church

Two gunmen stormed a church near the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa on Sunday and shot indiscriminately at worshippers, killing four people and wounding about 17 others, Per Second News gathered.

"Two people wearing masks entered the church and then started spraying bullets at us,” according to a worshipper.

The attack, which left about 17 wounded, came despite increased security in Kenyan cities amid heightened warnings of extremist violence.

A 63-year-old Nigerian  man was charged with murder after he confessed to the shooting death of his wife around 3 a.m. Saturday in west Harris County, Texas in the United

States.

Martin Ebegbodi went to a neighbor’s house and asked him to call police after getting into a fight and then shooting his wife, 36-year-old Isioma Ebegbodi nee Unokanjo.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the house in the 19700 block of Youpon Leaf Way and arrested Ebegbodi.

Martin Ebegbodi and Isioma J Unokanjo were married on February 11, 2005 in Harris County, Texas with Marriage certificate number 018430.

The announcement was made as an Australian navy ship was on its way today to retrieve two new objects spotted by military aircraft (right) in the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet. HMAS Success was expected to reach the two objects by tomorrow morning at the latest, Malaysia's government said, as a mounting number of sightings of floating objects raised hopes wreckage of the plane may soon be found.

Relatives of passengers and crew have been informed of the 'heartbreaking' news that Flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean, the Malaysian Prime Minister has announced.

Najib Razak told a press conference new analysis by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch and tracking firm Inmarsat indicated the flight ended in the southern Indian Ocean.

Let me begin by recounting a near-homosexual experience I had in the 1970s. I was in my early teens and a student at the Methodist Boys’ High School in Broad Street, Lagos. Thousands of curious residents flooded yesterday the “evil forest” where dying men and women, human skulls, and decomposing bodies were found.

The crowds started to throng the site as early as 8:00 am, increasing by the hour till nightfall when visibility became poor.
