TINUBU'S DAUGHTER CROWNED AS IYALOJA GENERAL OF LAGOS STATE WITH K1 ON THE BANDSTAND [PHOTOS]

Businesses, especially those into trading are kept at home today Tuesday October 29, as the new Iya Oloja General (Market Leader) of Lagos state, is crowned. She is Folashade Tinubu Ojo, the daughter of former governor of Lagos state, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.


The ceremony was witnessed by traders, men and women in Lagos State and beyond. 
Folashade succeeded her grandmother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji Tinubu who was the Iyaloja General before her death months ago.

She is married to Hon. Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo , Member of Nigeria's House of Representatives. 

Folashade holds a degree in Business Administration combined with Management at Middlesex University, England and also a Masters in Business Administration, and until her appointment she was the Deputy Chairman, Lagos State Market Development Board.

Prophet Caught Attempting To Rape His Client In Lagos

A 35-year-old prophet, Favour Emmanuel, on Monday appeared before an Ojokoro Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, and charged with attempt to r*pe his client. Emmanuel, who resides in Adedokun Street, Baruwa, Ipaja, was arraigned on four-count charge of attempted r*pe, undressing without consent, breach of peace and provocation. The prosecutor, Insp. Clara Olagbayi, told the court that the offence was committed at the accused office in Baruwa Ipaja on Oct. 21. Olgbayi said the complainant went to the prophet for prayer, but the accused assaulted her by undressing her and was about raping her when she cried out for help. She said it was the screaming of the complainant that attracted the neighbours, who then rescued her and reported the incidence to the police. The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections, 134, 185, 188 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused pleaded not guilty. The Magistrate, Mrs A.0 Layinka, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in the like sum. She adjourned the case to Nov. 29, for mention.

Aggrieved PDP Governors, Others Outline Grievances Against Jonathan

Seven aggrieved governors who have identified with a splinter faction of the Peoples Democratic Party today outlined their grievances against President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a statement released in Abuja Monday, the governors said they were displeased that Mr. Jonathan had shown no commitment to addressing the issues they raised at past meetings with him. The governors are Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (Kano), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Chibuike Amaechi (Rivers), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Aliyu Babangida (Niger), Abdulfatai Ahmed (Kwara), and Murtala Nyako (Adamawa).
The statement was signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the new PDP, Chukwuemeka Eze. It disclosed that members of the PDP faction met Sunday night in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, and deliberated on issues brought to the president’s attention by the aggrieved governors at two separate meetings they held with Mr. Jonathan.

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to rescue her. 

In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years. 

Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.

“My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my Mum and my siblings bad,” she wrote. 

The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”

The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.

Nigerian nightclub bouncer who twice dodged deportation is jailed for raping woman in her own home

A nightclub bouncer who was twice spared from being deported from Britain back to Nigeria has been jailed for raping a woman in her own home - months after judges allowed him to stay in the country.

Idreez Popoola, 34, should have been deported in 2006 after his temporary UK visa expired but he was allowed to continue living and working in Britain.

In December 2011 he was arrested and was told he would have to return to his native Nigeria but he successfully appealed the ruling.

Judges granted the nightclub bouncer temporary leave to stay in January 2012 because he had a wife and child.

Then, 11 months later on December 29 last year, he attacked and raped a woman in her own home.

He was jailed for seven years at Northampton Crown Court on October 18 after he was found guilty of rape following a four day trial last month.

Sentencing Popoola, Judge Lynn Tayton told him: 'It was a serious aggravating factor that the rape took place in the victim’s own home as this was an abuse of the trust placed in you by the victim and has undermined her feelings of safety in her own space.'

He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Judge Tayton also told him he would be automatically deported back to Nigeria on his release from prison.

The court heard Popoola met his victim while working as an agency-employed bouncer outside Bar So in Northampton town centre.

Conrad Murray completes jail time for killing Michael Jackson

Dr. Conrad Murray left the Los Angeles County jail under sheriff’s escort, avoiding reporters and Michael Jackson fans waiting for his release early Monday.Murray, who served two years of a four-year sentence for causing Michael Jackson’s death, was driven away in a sheriff’s car for the “safety and security” of the jail, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.The handful of Jackson fans gathered outside the jail accused the Los Angeles County sheriff of showing favoritism to Murray by slipping him out of the jail through a back exit, instead of the door where freed prisoners normally leave.Murray, who the sheriff’s spokesman described as an exemplary inmate, was kept away from the general inmate population during his two years in the jail. He was also allowed to have liberal use of a telephone inside his cell during his last year.Murray’s lawyer told reporters outside the jail that he would try to get his medical licenses reinstated in California, Texas and Nevada so he can resume the medical career interrupted by his conviction on the involuntary manslaughter in 2011

Four Ritual Suspects Arrested For Beheading & Seperating Into Parts 5-yr-Old Boy In Enugu

The police in Enugu State have nabbed four ritual suspects for abducting, beheading and cutting the private parts of a five-year-old boy’s before dumping him in water tank.

This arrest is contained in a statement signed by Mr Ebere Amaraizu, the Police Public Relations Officer, in Enugu on Friday.

Amaraizu said the victim, Promise Osakwe, was abducted by unknown persons at his home town in Aninri on Oct. 11.

The deceased body was later found in a water tank, without the head, and the private parts.

The suspects from Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State were nabbed in connection with the crime.

In a related development the police have successfully rescued one Chinenye Onyia of Udi in Enugu State form the grip of kidnappers.

Onyia was earlier reported by the husband as having been allegedly kidnapped by unknown persons on Oct.16, and was rescued in Gboko, Benue.

The police gathered that the victim had been staying with the said James Terkula in Gboko “on a self arranged kidnapping” under the guise that the husband had not been taking good care of her.

Unless by divine intervention, John Udin, a retired soldier may likely spend the rest of his life in jail if he doesn’t go to the gallows for clubbing his 14- year old daughter, Glory to death. John 72, from Jesse, Warri in Delta State was discharged from the Nigeria Army in 1999 as a corporal. He has 11 children from three wives. Two of the wives and seven children are in Jesse, while he resides at 28 Adewale Street, Iba New Site, Ojo, Lagos with the youngest wife, Comfort and four children in a two-room apartment.

Last Tuesday, what started as minor family quarrel turned fatal. On that fateful evening, while Comfort, Glory and the three other children were preparing for evening church service, it was alleged that John came to the front of their compound and sat down. As his family members wanted to leave for church, it was further alleged that he blocked the entrance and said they won’t go because they lack the character of good Christians.

According to John, his daughter Glory, a secondary school student didn’t have an iota of respect for him. “Whenever I tried to counsel or advise her as a beloved father, she would make ignoble and despicable signs to show an extreme disdain and contempt she has for me. These are the things she copied from her mother.

“Some times she would go to another family’s house to sleep or she did something not of good report, when I tried to caution her, she would talk to me or demonstrate with a sign that shows an utter contempt.”

While running away from making her son a subject of public discourse, Doris emphasized: “David Ademinokan, the product of Doris Simeon and Daniel Ademinokan’s seven-year-old marriage has not spoken or seen her mum since he was whisked away by his dad on the pretence of visiting his grandmother several months back.

“There is no iota of truth in the tale that Daniel Ademinokan has returned the young and intelligent David, who would have no doubt missed the presence of his mother greatly, in the last 13 months.
