Bomb Hidden Inside Volkswagen Golf Vehicle - Witness

The explosive device that went off at Nyanya motor park killing an estimated 200 people was hidden in a Volkswagen golf vehicle that was driven into the park and detonated, a witness has said.

The witness, who is also the driver of one of the high-capacity buses caught in the blast, said this to PREMIUM TIMES at the park.
This is contrary to earlier reports that the bomb was placed in one of the high-capacity buses.

The witness, Dalhatu Garba, also said the bomb exploded when most of the buses in the front row where full and ready to convey passengers.
“We just heard a loud explosion and many people died instantly. In fact, many people were scattered into pieces,” he said.

Mr. Garba explained the usual scenario at the park to shed light on the magnitude of the attack.

“Apart from our buses, many other smaller cars also come in to pick passengers especially those going on long journey,” he said.

Popular Yoruba Actor, Femi Adebayo was attacked by suspected street urchins while shooting a movie in Ilorin, Kwara State on Monday. He was in his home state for a movie shoot when some suspected thugs stormed the set and demanded for some money.
The hoodlums allegedly attacked the Actor and the other members of the production crew, when they refused to heed to their demands.

In the process, Femi Adebayo got shot and has since been rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Wishing him a soonest recovery.

The president has cancelled his scheduled trip to Ibadan this morning to visit the Nyanya bomb blast scene. He was there with the senate president and also visited victims at the Asokoro hospital, urging medical practitioners to do everything possible in their care to save the lives of the victims.

Many have been killed in an early morning explosion which occurred today, 14th of April, 2014 at a motor park in Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. 

                                      

The explosion occurred in a section of the park allocated to luxury buses popularly called El-Rufa’i buses, with a lot of passengers at the motor park.

Many have died while others with serious injuries have been rushed to the hospital. A combined team of security agencies and fire fighters are currently retrieving bodies and putting out fire at the scene.  More pictures after the cut. Warning: the pictures are very gory.

Scores of people were killed and maimed as an early morning bomb explosion rocked a motor park in Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Monday.

Nyanya is a satellite town bordering the FCT and Nasarawa State.

The explosion reportedly occurred in a section of the park allocated to luxury buses popularly called “El-Rufa’i buses.”

Worst hit was the area where vehicles plying Abuja-Ilorin-Kabba were parked.

A sex-crazed Angelina Jolie lookalike has been handed a suspended jail sentence after a taxi driver claimed she had tried to kill him when he refused to perform a sex act on her for a third time.

Nicolae Stan, 35, told police Luminita Perijoc, 31, had already forced him at knifepoint to have intercourse and perform oral sex during the incident in 2012.

He claims he met Perijoc while he was hired to deliver some bags of shopping to her apartment in the city of Tulcea, in eastern Romania, and when he turned up at the door she had asked for his phone number so that she could engage his services again. 

He said several hours later she called and asked him to pick up some bottles of wine and come back to her apartment to deliver them.
