Atiku Speaks On Decamping From PDP To APGA

The campaign office of former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has debunked the story from a section of the media that Atiku has defected from the PDP.

A press statement on Sunday described the report as a malicious attempt to confuse the public about the aspiration of Atiku ahead of the forthcoming presidential primaries election of the PDP. The statement read;

For the avoidance of any doubts, Atiku remains the frontline aspirant for the presidential ticket of the PDP.

I Am Confident Of Picking PDP's Ticket; “Since I Joined The PDP, I Have Never Left The Party. – Makarfi

Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday said he was confident of picking the party’s ticket for the 2019 election.

Makarfi made the declaration at an interactive session with newsmen in Lagos on Sunday.

Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna State who also served as the Chairman, PDP National Caretaker Committee, is now one of the over 12 presidential aspirants of the party.

The PDP aspirant, who just concluded meetings with PDP members in the Southwest, said his exceptional performance as chairman of the caretaker committee would give him an upper hand at the primaries.

The burial ceremony of the Pastor’s family of five at Methodist University school park, was attended by Family, sympathizers and church members of the of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA). We reported that on Sunday, August 19th, the pastor’s wife, three children and mother-in-law were burnt to ashes when fire gutted their storey building. Pastor Ato Kessie, was not in the house at the time the incident happened.

Tunde Bakare: I Gave El-Rufai N160M To Contest For Kaduna Governor In 2015

The firebrand preacher and founder of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has disclosed that he gave a whopping N160 million to the present Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai during his campaign to become the Chief Executive of the North Western State in 2015.

Speaking last weekend in Glasgow, Scotland as guest speaker at an evening with Association of Nigerians in Scotland, Bakare said that he gave the huge sum to the governor as a loan to help him as a friend during his push for the seat and the governor has since paid back.

“The current governor of Kaduna State once stayed in my house and we discussed many political and personal issues. I wrote the foreword of his published book with the little information I knew about him then.

Though she was happy that she would finally be rid of a malignant growth that had stood between her and the joy of motherhood, like many patients going under the knife, she was scared that something may go wrong. A devout Christian, Mrs Ohunyan said a quiet prayer that everything should go as planned.

That prayer was not answered.

US Senator John McCain Dies At 81 After A Year-Long Battle With Brain Cancer

Former American senator, John McCain died on Saturday, little more than a year after he was told he had brain cancer. He was 81. McCain’s office said in a statement “Senator John Sidney McCain III died at 4:28 p.m. on August 25, 2018.” .

He announced on July 19, 2017, that he had been diagnosed with a glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain tumour. On Friday his family announced he was discontinuing treatment.

“With the Senator when he passed were his wife Cindy and their family. At his death, he had served the United States of America faithfully for sixty years,” McCain’s office said in the statement.

How 4-Year-Old Girl Stolen During Service In Lagos Church Was Found In Benin

A little girl who was stolen during a church service at the Christ Embassy church in Lagos has been found in Benin. 

Family members of a missing four-year-old girl, Elo Ogidi, were overjoyed on Friday after she was found in an orphanage in Benin, Edo State, Punch Metro reports.

Elo was reportedly stolen from the Christ Embassy in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State, during a church service she attended in company with her parents and their housemaid on Sunday, July 8, 2018.

Elo’s father, Okpogene Ogidi, who confirmed the development to Saturday Punch on Friday, said some suspects were also arrested.

Prince Omoniyi Ademola Stabbed Oba Gbadebo Ogunsaki To Death For Refusing To Die

45-year-old Prince Omoniyi Ademola who stabbed a traditional ruler, Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin to death near his palace last Monday for refusing to die on time.

Ademola stabbed Ogunsakin,80, to death in Ikole LGA of Ekiti state on Monday after a meeting with his palace chiefs.

In his confession, Demola said he killed the Oba because he resurfaced after he was declared dead last year.

A man identified as Victor Nwobuike escaped death by whiskers after his wife, Mrs. Stella Robert Iwu and her sister, Chioma allegedly attacked him with Broken bottles.
According to an eyewitness and Facebook User, Nnamdi Obiakalusi, Chioma Iwu reportedly stabbed Nwobuike Severally as seen in the photos below.  In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Nwobuike claims that his wife wants him dead over his inability to give her a male child.

2019 Presidency: Atiku, Tambuwal Split PDP Governors, Stakeholders

There are indications that the recent defection of some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might have created a nightmare for the major opposition party in the country. Already, governors elected on the platform of PDP and other stakeholders are divided over the party’s presidential ticket for next year’s election.

They are torn between handing over the ticket to defectors or members who had stayed in the party since 2015 when PDP became an opposition party. So far, about 11 aspirants are in contention for the PDP ticket, which has been zoned to the North.
