Whether hip-life artiste Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known as Castro, is dead or alive is a mystery that remains unresolved.

Castro disappeared mysteriously with a lady friend, Janet Bandu, about three months ago during a jet-ski ride at Aqua Safari, a beach resort at Ada in the Greater Accra Region.

Castro’s disappearance on July 6, 2014 has kept the Ghanian nation wondering about what might have happened to the hip-life artiste and his lady friend.

While some people believe that Castro is dead, snippets of information gathered from family members and friends of the hip-life musician indicate that all might not be lost after all.

There’s not really a more jarring travel experience than spending two weeks getting used to being in Japan and then going immediately to Nigeria. They’re opposite places in almost every way places can be opposite. Even as I was checking my bag at the Tokyo airport, the woman saw where I was going and looked at me like, “Seriously though what’s your problem?”

I don’t know what my problem is. But I had apparently decided to leave the world’s most pristine, orderly, safe place to go to a place that was not those three adjectives, and there I suddenly was, standing in the middle of Africa’s biggest city, trying to not die.

But we’ll come back to my situation in a minute—let’s first get oriented on Nigeria.

On the morning of Saturday, August 2nd, I got in a taxi in Erbil, the regional capital of Kurdish Iraq, and asked the driver to take me to the Khazir refugee camp.

This was a scary-ish thing to do.

The “scary” part is a result of the fact that the Khazir camp is outside of the borders of the somewhat autonomous Kurdish region, one of the only secure parts of the country.

The “ish” part comes from the fact that the Khazir camp, though outside of Kurdish borders, is still in an area currently controlled by the Peshmerga—the Kurdish army.

The former chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ekiti state, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye has been shot dead.

Residents told SaharaReporters late evening that Aderiye was killed by unknown gunmen at Ijigbo area in Ado Ekiti.

Aderiye was on his way home when the gunmen numbering about four accosted and shot him at close range.
