In this day and age of online dating and app hookups, it’s become standard to meet men on social media and other digital outlets, but the story of Sharae Bradford might make you think twice about how soon you want to go from social outings to home invitations.
On Saturday, Bradford was found nude and “bleeding heavily” by a family member in her Ferguson, MO, apartment around 6 pm. At the time, the 25-year-old mom was responsive but by the time paramedics arrived she was unconscious and pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradford’s family believes the individual responsible for the young mother’s death is a man she met on Facebook last week whom she invited to her house for the first time Saturday. The man reportedly suffers from mental illness and has a violent past.
The victim’s mother, Yolanda Seay, told the local Fox station the family only recently learned of the man’s background. “We didn’t know this until everybody started posting things on Facebook about him. They say they know he did this. We know he did this, my daughter is killed. My daughter is murdered because of this.”
Bradford’s apartment complex is surrounded by surveillance cameras and police have taken the tapes from the cameras but have yet to comment on the case or Bradford’s cause of death. Thankfully, her 6-year-old daughter wasn’t home at the time of the murder.

Update: Police charged 20-year-old Stassie Greer, of neighboring town Jennings, with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action on Tuesday. Greer is being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on $1 million cash-only bond.
He was held in lieu of $1 million cash-only bail.

According to court documents, Greer had arranged to meet Bradford at her apartment and have sex in exchange for money. A witness saw Greer show up at Bradford’s apartment, then later identified Greer in a police lineup, the charges allege.
Video surveillance at the apartment complex showed someone who appears to be Greer entering the complex and leaving the elevator on the same floor as Bradford’s apartment at 4:50 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
At 5:34 p.m. Saturday, Greer is seen getting off the elevator and trying to conceal his appearance, court records say. The man in the video is wearing clothing similar to what Greer was seen wearing on his Facebook page.
Bradford was found at 6 p.m., in her room and surrounded by blood. Police say she died of a single gunshot to the head.
Police say they found a used condom with the victim. Tests by the medical examiner’s office found semen on the victim.
Bradford’s cellphone and her rent money were missing from her apartment, police say. Police got a search warrant for Greer’s home and found Bradford’s phone there.
