This is the most expensive pocket watch in the world and it was originally made for Marie Antoinette. It's worth $30M. It was designed by watchmaker Breguet and has more pieces (823) than an iPhone. It’s self winding, has a minute repeater, perpetual calendar, equation of time, jumping hour, power reserve indicator, and a bimetallic thermometer – everything but MMS messaging.
However, both Breguet and Marie Antoinette died before it was completed. The watch was finally completed in 1827 – 34 years after her death, 4 years after Breguet’s, and 44 years after the timepiece was ordered.
