Man 'Rips Out Ten-Year-old Girl's Heart After Raping Her As She Walked Home From School

Police in Brazil have arrested a sex monster accused of ripping a schoolgirl's heart out of her chest after raping and killing her.
Missing Raiana Aparecida Candida, ten, was found dead on a country farm in Buenopolis in the state of Minais Gerais, around 440 miles north of Rio de Janeiro.
Police made the gruesome discovery her killer had taken her heart after targeting her as she walked to school last Wednesday.

Jairo Lopes, arrested after being found hiding in undergrowth near the murder scene after a five-day manhunt, had to be airlifted from the area after around 500 locals massed in a bid to lynch him.

He initially claimed he was innocent but later reportedly confessed to the barbaric crime.
Detectives say he originally claimed he targeted his victim in an attempt to extort money from her family - but are now probing the possibility she was killed as part of a black magic ceremony.

Pictures published in the local press today showed the 42-year-old sat bare-chested in the back of a police car with cuts and bruises to his face, sustained when furious locals attacked him after he was arrested by police.
Tragic Raiana's heart was found buried near the spot where her body was found following a search.
Local reports said Lopes was on the run over a homicide and another rape but was using fake ID documents.

Police chief Giovanni Idalmo de Faria, speaking before Lopes' alleged confession, said: 'We had to move him quickly from the hiding place he was found in because locals wanted to kill him
'He confessed a past murder to them but claimed he had nothing to do with the little girl's killing.
'We confiscated blood-stained boots and other potential evidence. Until we're shown otherwise, this man was the author of this barbaric crime'

Detectives are said to be taking seriously the possibility she was the victim of black magic because Lopes has a tattoo on his stomach which refers to a sect.
The dead girl was being raised by her dad and maternal grandmother following the death of her sick mum eight months ago.
An aunt, who asked not to be named, said the alleged killer had turned up at the family home the week before Raiana disappeared and claimed he was looking for work.

She said: 'His house is about three miles from the property Raiana lived in.
'A few days before she disappeared, he turned up, said his name was Roberto and asked to speak to her dad.
'Her grandfather said he wasn't in. This man stayed and chatted for a while, smoked a cigarette and said he was looking for work.'
