The wife of a devout British Sikh has been accused of helping her secret lover to murder her husband during a holiday in India. Ramandeep Kaur Mann, from Derby, has allegedly admitted to colluding with the best friend of her husband after becoming caught up in a love triangle.

The Times reports Banda police officer Rajesh Kumar Singh as saying: ‘Gurpreet reached her house at 10pm and they both went upstairs where Gurpreet hit Sukhjit Singh on the head with a hammer. Ramandeep, meanwhile, smothered him using a pillow.

In older pictures Mr Singh has short hair, but in more recent family photographs - including one of the family riding camels in the desert (left) , he sported a full beard and a turban.
'They suspected he was still alive so Gurpreet then slit his throat using a butcher's knife which he had brought with him.'
Sukhjit was reportedly sleeping next to his sons, aged six and nine, when he was murdered.
Ms Mann reportedly told police that her husband refused to give her a divorce. The couple had been married since 2005.

The couple and their two children travelled to India last month to visit relatives and to meet up with Gurpreet, known as Miththu Singh, her husband’s childhood friend.
