Recently; A grieving Nigerian man, Abdullahi Abubakar Darma, narrated how he mistakenly killed his daughter while reversing his car in Katsina, he took to Facebook to recount how he has been mourning following his daughter’s death.

According to the heartbroken dad, he knocked his daughter down while reversing his car. Here’s what he wrote;

“Few minutes ago, I got tested (i.e tested by God). I was reversing my car and I marched on my daughter mistakenly and she died”

Sometime in 2015, a Dad was also in the news after he accidentally ran over and killed his 16-month-old daughter after being distracted by the family dog running into the road.

Angel Pitts – who had only just learnt to walk – was knocked down by her father Scott when she wandered in front of the car outside the family home in Leeds, West Yorkshire last June.

Mr Pitts, 36, failed to spot his daughter as he called for his partner Megin Darch to come and pick up the family’s Jack Russell.

He initially thought he had run over one of his children’s toys, an inquest heard.

But Mr Pitts – who had been on his way to collect a DVD for the family to watch – found Angel under the bumper of his Toyota Avensis with serious head injuries.

One neighbour described hearing Mr Pitts screaming and carrying the toddler in his arms immediately after she was hit.

“Angel had apparently left the house unseen by anyone,” Police Sergeant Carl Quinn told the inquest.

“She walked into the road to the near side of the vehicle within the path of the turning car – she was struck by the near side front wheel resulting in a knock to the ground and injuries to her head.”

Miss Darch said her partner had been “very affected” by the accident.

“Scott has been very affected – he says he is okay but I don’t think that he is,” the mother-of-two said in a statement to the court in Leeds.

“I’ve told him it’s not his fault it was an accident. He thinks I hate him but I don’t.

“I’m devastated about what happened but I carry on for my son’s sake. “I cannot really describe how I have felt since the accident. We miss Angel so much and we will never forget her.”
