Buhari Orders Journalists Out Of BBOG Meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday ordered journalists out of his meeting with parents of the abducted Chibok girls and members of the Bringbackourgirls movement. Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, who voiced the order, said the reason was due to some “sensitive issues” that were to be discussed. 

A galaxy of journalists who had turned up for the meeting thronged out of the banquet hall, venue of the meeting, in quick steps. Earlier, the group and the parents had refused to leave when they were told that the president would not meet with them.

Senate Confirms 2016 Budget Missing

The controversy over whether or not the hard copy of the 2016 budget proposal is missing has been cleared.

Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Wednesday confirmed that the upper chamber has empanelled a high powered Senate search team to fish out the missing fiscal document.

The cat of the missing document was let out of the bag by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, (Abia South) who came under Senate Standing Order 42.

The emergency assembly comes after 10 US Navy sailors were apprehended after straying into Iranian waters while on a training exercise in the Gulf.

Naira Crashes To 300 Against Dollar - Following The Stoppage Of Foreign Exchange Sales To Bureau De Change Operators By CBN

According to Punch newspaper monday’s stoppage of foreign exchange sales to Bureau De Change operators by the Central Bank of Nigeria failed to lift the naira on Tuesday as the currency exchanged for 300 against the United States dollar in Kano, 290 in Lagos and 292 in Abuja.

Financial experts said the naira would decline further, while private sector operators described the move as a welcome development.
