Shiite Group Invades National Assembly Complex, Injures 3 Policemen

Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria- the Shiite on Tuesday, invaded the National Assembly Complex throwing stones and injuring three policemen.
The invaders stormed the complex at about 1.30 p.m., demanding the release of their leader Ibrahim El Zakzaky who has been in detention for about four years.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that injured policemen were rushed to the NASS clinic for treatment.
The protesters forced their way through the first gate near the Federal Secretariat and headed to the main building where they clashed with security operatives.

Senator Elisha Abbo In Face-Off With Oluremi Tinubu, Senate Adhoc Panel (Video)


Senator Abbo appeared before the committee that was set up by the Senate to investigate his alleged assault on a woman at a toy shop. The committee is chaired by Senator Sam Egwu (who is a former governor and former minister).

However, a faceoff ensued when Senator Abbo told that committee to tell journalists to leave the room

Senator Sam Egwu: "We have finished listening to you talk to the whole word. We have listened to you, the whole world has heard you on television and everywhere. So what's the difference? You are just making a statement here. Even if it is one sentence, say what you have to say."

Tinubu Reconciles APC In Ondo, Solicits Support For Akeredolu’s 2nd Term


Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Lagos state governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, visited Ondo state to reconcile aggrieved members of the party.

Tinubu was accompanied by the former interim national chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande; former governor of Ogun state, Segun Osoba and former governor of Ekiti state, Niyi Adebayo.

The APC national leader, who arrived at the Akure Airport at exactly 1:48 pm, was received by Governors Rotimi Akeredolu and Kayode Fayemi of Ondo and Ekiti states respectively.

Other APC notable leaders who received Tinubu at the Airport were Isaac Kekemeke, Olusola Oke, Ali Olanusi among others.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), says an Assistant Superintendent of Customs, Nura Dahiru who appeared in the office wearing the rank of a Deputy Comptroller- General (DCG) on Monday was not in the right frame of mind.

The Public Relations Officer of NCS, Mr Joseph Attah said this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday.

Attah was reacting to the incident where one of the officers of the service declared himself as Comptroller-General and wanted to take over on Monday at the Headquarters.

An anonymous Source at the Customs headquarters in Abuja told NAN that Dahiru walked in on Monday morning wearing the new rank, and went into the office of Hameed Ali, the Comptroller-General, saying he was there to take over from him.

The leadership of the Nigerian Army in 2015, led by Kenneth Minimah, a lieutenant general, activated a last-minute plan to truncate that year’s presidential election to stop President Muhammadu Buhari from being declared the winner.

But the plot failed after four senior officers charged with executing it deliberately failed to deliver on the task.

A two-year investigation by Premium Times newspaper revealed that after the results of 35 states and Abuja were released by INEC on March 31, 2015, indicating that then President Goodluck Jonathan was losing the election, the top hierarchy of the army made a desperate push to halt the release of the pending Borno State result.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the promotion of the Nigerian Army Chief of Training and Operations, Maj Gen Lamidi Adeosun, to the rank of a Lieutenant General, the same rank as the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai.

The Nigerian Army confirmed this promotion in a release on Tuesday.

The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa, said apart from Adeosun, the President also approved the promotion of “Brig Gen AB Biu, General Officer Commanding 7 Division to the rank of a Major General.”

A civil rights organisation under the aegis of Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates, on Monday opened a fresh chapter in the allegation of rape against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth Zion Assembly.

The organisation specifically said information at its disposal suggested that the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, was planning to transfer the case to Abuja.

The convener of COPA, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in a statement in Abuja, said the case would be diligently monitored with a view to checking the abuse of the process by parties.

Rather than transfer the case to Abuja, he advised that priority must also be given to the security and convenience of the vital and primary witness and Fatoyinbo’s alleged rape victim, Busayo Dakolo.

Two siblings, Chinaza Nwogu and Emeka Ejike are  in police net for allegedly kidnapping their 88-year old father, Louis Njoku. They were arrested alongside one Emmanuel Sunday, who is said to be Chinaza’s boyfriend.
Emmanuel had planned on using his cut from the ransom that will be paid for the abduction of his would-be father-in-law to pay for his daughter’s bride price.
Parading the suspects, the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Imo state command on June 29 following a tip-off.

Kano Man Stabbed By His Wife Shows Evidence Of Her Sending Nudes To Boyfriends


Hussain, whose 21-year-old wife Fatima Musa almost killed him by stabbing, has finally recovered to narrate his own side of the story.

The incident occurred at 1:30am on June 22 at the couple’s residence at Unguwar Mai Kalwa, Naibawa, Quarters, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, according to a Daily Focus report.

The family of the wife had earlier painted a picture of self-defence, accused Mr Hussain of wife battery, and released a video of injuries inflicted on her by him before she escaped to pick a knife and stab him.

Fatima, a student of Law at Bayero University Kano, BUK, was immediately arrested by the police.

But at a press conference he organised in his residence, Mr Hussain accused his wife of infidelity and denied accusations of wife beating.

Days after being declared missing, the body of a Nigerian student, Obasanjo Adeola Owoyale, has been found in the boot of his car parked in Nicosia schools road, Northern Cyprus.

The 33-year old student of the Cyprus International University left home on July 1, 2019, and went missing. The first examination at the scene showed that Owayale has a large wound on his body. .

His body has been taken to Nicosia Burhan Nalbantoglu State Hospital and the cause of his death will be revealed, tomorrow, after autopsy. An intensive investigation has also been launched to find out the motive behind his death.

An expectant father and the relative he recruited to try and kill his unborn child by pouring detergent down a pregnant teenager's throat have been jailed for a total of 21 years.

Harief Pearson, 22, enlisted cousin Kydie McKenna, 22, and a 16-year-old girl who cannot be named, to help trigger a miscarriage because he 'did not want to be a father'.

The 17-year-old victim was held hostage in an ordeal lasting multiple hours at Pearson's home in Harlesden, north west London on December 12 last year.

Harrow Crown Court heard Pearson had searched a 'how to get rid of an unwanted pregnancy at one month' and 'what time is easiest to lose a baby' on his phone prior to the attack.

Police Offer £20k Reward For Information In The Murder Of Nigerian 16-Year-Old Boy In London

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old John Ogunjobi in Tulse Hill are renewing appeals for assistance in finding those responsible for his death.

A reward of up to £20,000 is available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder.

Officers are also asking anyone who may have seen a black Audi Q5 in or around the Tulse Hill area at the time of the incident to come forward and speak to the police.

Police was called to Greenleaf Close, Tulse Hill at 22.53hrs on 5 November 2018.
Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found 16-year-old John Ogunjobi collapsed in the street with stab injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 23:41hrs.

The Senate on Monday said that despite the public apology tendered by Senator Elisha Abbo, it would proceed with the Senator’s probe, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has constituted a panel to investigate the assault, following a point of order raised by the Senator representing Kaduna Central, Uba Sani, on the issue.

The Senate Leader, Abdullahi Yahaya; Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe; and Senator Opeyemi Bamidele supported Sani by condemning Abbo’s alleged action.

Lawan said it would be unfair to both the lawmaker and the victim if the Senate should pass a judgment based on the viral video clip without listening to Abbo.

Lawan who on Sunday, July 7, met with Tinubu, said the Senate will take its oversight role seriously and perform its assignments without fear or favour.

The Senate president who disclosed this through his official Twitter handle assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari and the government would be supported by the National Assembly.

Senior Magistrate Abdullahi Ilellah has granted bail to Senator Elisha Abbo in the sum of N5million and two sureties in like sum who must have verifiable addresses within the Federal Capital Territory.  

The case has since been adjourned to July 22nd for hearing.  

Senator Abbo was arraigned today on a one-count of assault which he pleaded not guilty. He was arraigned by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police at Zuba Magistrate Court, Abuja after a video of him assaulting a woman went viral.

For the embattled Senator Elisha Abbo, there is no end in sight to his self-inflicted travail. The infamous video of his assault of a Nursing at an Abuja adult toy shop is the Pandora’s box that brought him to bad light. Now, the floodgate is open and more damaging revelations are coming into the open, as grave allegations surface from different quarters.

Two of his accusers spoke with Saturday Sun. The worse allegation came from Eunice Tochukwu Ojukwu, his sister-in-law, who alleged that Senator Abbo, battered his late wife, Eucharia Uche Ishiaku, who eventually died of HIV.

Eunice Tochukwu Ojukwu made this allegation when she visited the Ikeja office of the Sun newspaper yesterday.

“I am the immediate junior sister of Eucharia Uche Ishiaku who was married to the man you all now know as Senator Elisha Abbo,” she declared. “His real name is Clifford Ishiaku, that’s the name we knew him till we saw the story on social media that he is now a senator.”

She lamented that her sister would have been alive if her husband had informed her about his health status.

RUGA: Charly Boy, Eedris Abdulkareem, Baba Fryo, Others Storm RCCG Camp, Insist Adeboye Must Take A Stand


Charly boy, Baba Fryo, Eedris Abdulkareem, and some Nigerian students on Monday stormed the Redemption Camp, to demand that the General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God -RCCG Pastor Adeboye give his stance on RUGA and Leah Sharibu's abduction.

The protesters said that they regarded Adeboye as 'their father' and since he gave his stance on the COZA saga, he ought to do same on RUGA, and Leah Sharibu's abduction too.

Unfortunately, the protesters met Pastor Adeboye's absence. They were however addressed by the National general overseer of the RCCG Pastor Joseph Obayemi.
