JACKLINE Uwera Nsenga, 36, has been found guilty of murdering her late husband, Juvenal Nsenga.
Justice Duncan Gaswaga on Monday morning said Uwera intentionally killed her husband at their home in Bugolobi.
Court rejected Uwera’s defence that she accidentally knocked her husband when the car jerked.  Her evidence that they had a good relationship therefore she could not have killed him was also rejected.

Gaswaga said the relationship between the couple had become irreconcilable and that Uwera only waited for an opportunity to kill him.

“The court found that you did not enjoy your marriage and take note of the children. Therefore you must take responsibility of what happened by serving 20 years in prison,” the High Court Judge, Duncan Gaswaga said in a fully packed court.

Uwera was on Monday convicted for the murder of her husband Nsenga.
Gaswaga passed the verdict Tuesday after prosecution proved that Uwera intentionally killed her husband by running him over with a car at their matrimony home in Bugolobi. The principal stateattorney led by Susan Okalany and Jane Okuo presented 13 witnesses who testified against Uwera.
“Uwera, you know you have been convicted of murder after prosecution proved your case beyondreasonable doubt,” Gaswaga said.

While passing the sentence, the High Court Judge also considered the time Uwera had spent on remand. She had spent one year and two month on remand. Gaswaga said that Uwera was free to appeal against the conviction and sentence.
