4 Nigerian Students On A Religious Trip, Die In An Auto Crash, 1km From Their School


The auto crash occurred at Ibule village about one kilometre to FUTA North gate. 11 others sustained severe injuries and are presently receiving treatment at at the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Akure. The state’s Police Pubic Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Femi Joseph, attributed it to high speed.

He said the accident happened when the bus driver lost control while trying to avoid the motorcycle that suddenly appeared on the highway. The bus somersaulted several times after trying to manoeuvre its way. The students were returning from Ibadan after attending a religious programme.
The Public Relations Officer of the University, Olu Adegbenro, said the students were on a private religious trip when the accident happened. He commiserated with the families of the deceased students and their colleagues.
