The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said operatives at its Kaduna zonal office, intercepted the sum of N49 million in five large 150 kg black colour BUHU sacks, on Tuesday.
The anti-graft body spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement said during a routine baggage screening, five sacks without tags, were sighted unattended, containing fresh bulk items suspected to be money.

Uwujaren said after examination, the bags were found to contain naira notes of N200 denomination in 20 bundles totaling forty million naira and N50 denomination in 180 bundles totalling nine million naira with seal purportedly originating from the Nigeria Security and Minting Plc (NSPM) as seen in the labeled seal packs.
He said the EFCC has started investigations into the case to unravel the culprits behind the attempted illegal transporting of cash.
