Ooni of Ife Allegedly Battered Olori Wuraola for Launching Campaign against Domestic Violence.
More facts have emerged as to why the 17 months old marriage of the Ooni of Ife and Olori Wuraola crashed within a short time.
Recall few days ago, we reported that Olori Wuraola was sent out of the palace and was not allowed to leaver with her bed.
Well, the bed was reportedly bought for $25,000 from Lebanon. A new report curled from Kemiahefonlovehaven revealed that the estranged couple have been at a war from 2016 before news of the failed marriage went viral.
The Ooni of Ife had reportedly stopped having sexual relations with Olori Wuraola and had beaten her up a couple of times in the marriage.
A source who spoke on anonymity to the news media said: “Wife battery? “Yes, maybe her actions infuriated the king and he beat her up. That she established a foundation which addresses Domestic Violence against women annoyed the king—it was a blatant disregard for the throne and when she returned from Lagos where she launched it, she got the beating of her life.”
Olori Wuraola had launched the campaign in Lagos where celebrities including Mercy Aigbe, Tonto Dikeh, Sola Sobowale and others supported the movement.
The Ooni’s marriage to his queen had also taken another turn early August 2017 after he gave her a 30-day ultimatum to leave his palace. She moved her belongings from the palace in Ife to Lagos.
The report adds that on August 12, 2017, the queen snubbed the Ooni and his entourage when they met at the Murtala Mohammed domestic airport lounge in Lagos.
The queen’s friends defended her saying: “Sonia (Olori Wuraola as called by her friends) was right to have snubbed him. He had embarrassed her before his family members, beaten her on some occasions and denied her conjugal rights, he had even told her to come and pack her belongings. So, why salute him at the airport? She knew his sisters had already gotten a lady for him but Sonia never met the new wife.
In fact Bolanle was one of the three ladies jostling to marry the king. There was this lady, Banke, who is working in one of the biggest telecoms in Nigeria and another Bimbo, who lives in Canada. For the estranged Olori, she is less bothered about that now, she needs to pick pieces of her life again and move on.”
Olori Wuraola is now set to start up a new life in Abuja where she owns several property development businesses.
