Financial Times London Representative In Nigeria Kunle Ogedengbe Bags NIPR Fellowship Gold Medal

Kunle Ogedengbe and Mrs. Tokunbo Ajala-Ekundayo both newly decorated Fellows of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations

Country Representative - Nigeria of The Banker Magazine, Financial Times, London, United Kingdom, Mr. Kunle Ogedengbe has been decorated with the Fellowship Gold Medal of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a chartered body of public relations practitioners in Nigeria at the 2018 Conference and Annual General Meeting of the institute in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State recently.

Ogedengbe who is also the Managing Director/Principal Consultant of PR Plus Consulting Limited has over 26 years experience in media, public relations, advertising, research, strategy, corporate planning, marketing and academics.


He set up the public relations department of MTN Nigeria and was at various times Heads of Corporate Communication and Strategy at Sovereign Trust Insurance Company Plc where he was also Secretary of Top Management and UnityKapital Assurance Plc (now Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc) apart from being Advertising Manager at Chellarams Plc.



The chartered public relations practitioner has lectured or facilitated public relations across tertiary institutions including at the Mass Communication Department of University of Lagos; School of Communication of the Lagos State University (LASU); School of Media and Communication of Pan Atlantic University; Mass Communication Department of Ambrose Alli University; Mass Communication Department of Lagos State Polytechnic; and at the Public Relations Academy of the NIPR apart from being the Research Assistant on the Paper Insight Nigeria at University of Hertfordshire Business School, United Kingdom. 


He holds an M.Sc. degree in Mass Communication from Lagos State University (LASU); another M.Sc. degree in Finance from the University of Calabar; B.Sc. (Hons), Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from The Polytechnic, Ibadan; Professional Diploma of the NIPR (Chartered); and Certificates in Internal Communication and Brand Management from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, United Kingdom.


He has authored many books including Media of Public Relations; Principles and Practice of Community Relations – A Premier; Issues in PR (co-authorship); Advertology (co-authorship) and Capsule History and Development of GSM in Nigeria apart from academic papers published in journals and books across the world that are also being used as materials in Nigeria, Europe, United States of America and Asia.


Ogedengbe has delivered papers on public relations and chaired sessions at national and international public relations programmes including at the All Africa Public Relations Conferences of the Africa Public Relations Association in Nigeria, Kenya and at Cameroon where he led the Nigerian delegation apart from the paper he delivered at the World Public Relations Forum in Toronto Canada on Africa Traditional Media of Communication where he also served as a judge in the global public relations awards of the World Public Relations Forum in 2016. He equally delivered a paper on the topic Alignment of the Goals of Host Communities and Energy Companies in Nigeria: The Strategic Place of Community Development and Corporate Social Responsibility for Sustainable Stakeholders Participation at the 2012 annual conference of the Society of Petroleum Engineers in Nigeria.


An international public relations practitioner with global exposure at the PIELLE Consulting Group London under the tutelage of Mr. Peter Walker former president of the CIPR and Life Vice President of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce, Ogedengbe, who was also at Corporate and Financial Communication under the tutelage of Mr. Nduka Maduegbuna and Mike Meze is happily married with children.


He has also served the NIPR in various capacities including as Coordinator of International Collaborations and Secretary of Training Committee, Secretary of Electoral Committee, Secretary of Communiqué Body apart from being a former vice chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the institute.
