Brittney Silva, 18, was hit and killed by an Amtrak train while walking on train tracks near her San Leandro, Calif., home on Monday. The 18-year-old had hoped to become an obstetrician or marine biologist.
A Adistracted teen wearing earbuds was hit and killed by an Amtrak train as she argued with her dad on her cell, it's claimed.
Brittney Silva, 18, was tragically struck down by the locomotive as she walked on the tracks at Hesperian Boulevard, near her San Leandro, Calif., home at 5.55pm on Monday.
An onlooker reportedly tried to warn her away, but as she reportedly had the buds in both ears she did not hear.
The body of the teen, who had been due to begin college this fall and wanted to be an obstetrician or marine biologist, was found 50 yards from the track.
Younger sister Melody, 11, paid tribute to her older sibling.
The teen's body was found 50 yards from the track.

"Everyone loved her. She would always dance, and she would always give me great advice about life," she told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Her mom Cynthia Silva, meanwhile, revealed she had often warned her daughter only to wear one bud at a time.
And she offered a warning to other children to do the same.
"I've told my kids time and time and time again until I was blue in the face, and I will tell all of the youngsters out there, when you're walking down the street and you got your headphones on, keep one headphone in and one headphone out so you can hear the world around you," she said.
"I believe that if she had listened to me and done what I said, she would have heard the train coming," Silva added.
Cynthia Silva, Brittney's mom, told her daughter to wear one bud at a time when walking down the street.

'Everyone loved her. She would always dance, and she would always give me great advice about life,' said Brittney's 11-year-old sister Melody.
