The Inflatable Women Sell For As Little As £30.

Doors (and legs) open to the sex doll factory where inflatable women cost £30

A Chinese city has been put on the map – as the largest manufacturer of sex dolls.
Ningbo boasts the highest number of sex doll factories in the whole of China and is flooded with calls from punters across the globe eager to get their hands on the inflatable women.
The PVC and rubber-coated dolls cost as little as £30.
Factory worker Shu Mai, 40, said: ‘Sometimes it’s a bit eerie having all these body parts lying around, a bit like a giant morgue.

They're sold in "adult health" shops around the country, available in hotel minibars and even on sale by the checkout counter at some convenience stores, next to the gum and candy. This is peculiar in a country where just 30 years ago, public criticism erupted when a magazine published a picture of a couple kissing on its back cover. The about-face in attitudes towards sex in China, which began when the prudish Chinese Communist Party government launched its opening and reform drive in the late 1970s and has been catalyzed by the Internet, is creating a prime business opportunity for the sex toy industry, insiders say. The market will grow to about 40 billion yuan (US$6.53 billion) by 2014 from approximately 10 billion yuan at the end of 2011. And now the fast-growing e-commerce in China is also fueling the sex toy industry as many shops sell such products online to avoid privacy issues of their customers.

‘Of course I know they aren’t real. I assume the men who buy them know that too, although on our online sales we do give them names and the menrequest the doll by name.

‘I think one of the reasons we have become so successful is the quality of the dolls we produce.’

The worker added: ‘They look good, are easily inflatable and don’t deflate too quickly. Our customers like that.’
