Buhari to open Diaspora Day conference

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to declare open the 2015 Diaspora Day Conference on August 25.
This was disclosed to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday by the Permanent Secretary (Political Affairs), Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, during a press briefing heralding the event.
The conference, which will hold at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, according to Odusote, will examine three thematic areas including health, education and youth and sports.

She said the targets set for the Conference are clearly defined and geared towards supporting and enhancing the change agenda of the Federal Government in formulating and implementing policies.
She said the conference will have a key participant, a young Nigerian student with an incredible accomplishment, Mr. Ufot Ekong, who recently solved a Mathematical equation of 30 years.

Experts, the permanent secretary said, will also speak in the different areas, while three panel sessions will dwell on sustainable healthcare delivery in Nigeria, sustainable development through youth empowerment and enhancing education in the country.
