DAYO ADENEYE [D1] NAMED OGUN COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION & STRATEGY


Frontline entertainment entreprenuer and famous TV personality Dayo Adeneye popularly called D1 has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Information & Strategy for Ogun State.
Adeneye, who with Keke Ogungbe are household names in Nigeria Africa on account of their show Primetine Africa, was given his portfolio at a colourful ceremony at the Gateway Cultural Centre, Abeokuta yesterday,  October 28th, 2015.

The new Commissioners, Special Assistants and Senior Consultants as announced by Governor Ibikunle Amosun are: Olamilekan Adegbite (Works and Infrastructure); Otunba Bimbo Ashiru (Commerce and Industries); Ronke Sokefun (Agriculture); and Muyiwa Oladipo, who the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Others are Chief Jide Ojuko (Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs); Modupe Mujota (Education, Science and Technology); Adenrele Adesina (Budget and Economic Planning).
Others include Adeleke Adewolu (Special Duties and Inter-Government Affairs); Babatunde Ipaye (Health); Kolawole Lawal (Forestry); Bolaji Oyeleye (Environment); Adebola Adeife (Physical Planning and Urban Development); Gbenga Adenmosun (Community Development and Cooperatives); and Afolabi Afuwape (Youth and Sports).
Also on the list of commissioners are Olumide Ayeni (Justice and Attorney General); Segun Abiodun (Housing); and Adewale Oshinowo (Finance).
The Special Advisers include Sunday Bamiwola (Women Affairs and Social Development), Adenike Osoba (Culture), Bayo Adeyemi (Housing), Muse Lamidi (Political Affairs), Funmi Ajayi (Commerce); and Jumoke Akinwunmi (Housing Corporation).
In his speech at the packed to capacity venue, Governor Amosun warned the newly appointed commissioners, senior special assistants and senior consultants against looting or mismanaging the resources of the state.
The governor noted that they must avoid ostentatious lifestyle and looting which might soil their reputation, considering the new change mantra both at the federal and the state levels.
He said, “You must be conscious and careful in your dealings and avoid any financial profligacy and/or impropriety that will put your name into disrepute.
“Be aware that the change mantra of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has percolated down and the eagle eyes of the anti-graft agencies are everywhere.”
While informing the Exco Members that work will begin at 7.am the next day, he promised Ogun State indigenes especially those in rural areas to expect rapid development, noting that it was the reason the Deputy Governor will be supervising the Ministry.
He tasked indigenes not to make too much financial demands of commissioners, as they have been appointed to serve the state and not some persons or interests.
