Congratulations are in order for the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, who has welcomed a bouncing baby boy after many years of waiting. The baby was reportedly given birth to on Monday, December 25th. Both the mother and baby are in good health, according to reports.

Chief (Mrs.) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo is the first daughter of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is married to Hon. Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, a member of the House of Representatives.


Since the young woman with solid pedigree became the Iyaloja General about 4 years ago, controversies seem to have been her alter ego. In the first place, the unpleasant circumstances that surrounded her emergence as Iyaloja General, succeeding her grandmother, the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, were very controversial, almost tearing the market men and women apart, as majority of them were not in support of her choice as Iyaloja. It took the intervention of her father, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to calm down the opposing market women before she could be given a breather as Iyaloja General of Lagos.
