Manchester United Lose Nigerian Irish Born Teenage Goal-scoring Sensation Mipo Odubeko After Youngster Turns Down New Deal

Teenager Mipo Odubeko has turned down a contract extension at Manchester United

Manchester United have lost teenage goalscoring sensation Mipo Odubeko after the youngster turned down a new contract.

The 16-year-old scored 35 goals for United's academy last season and was viewed as one of the club's hottest prospects.

But the Republic of Ireland Under-17 international's contract expired at the end of June and he has now rejected the offer of an extension - believing his development is better served away from United.

He has now left the club, sparking a frantic scramble for his signature.
Odubeko's decision to leave has alerted clubs across the continent.
Feyenoord, Bayern Munich and Genoa are ready to move in the race to land Odubeko - with the growing likelihood that the teenager will move abroad.
Newcastle and Burnley are among the sides in England to have a concrete interest in the youngster.

Odubeko looks like he will not be the only striker leaving Old Trafford this summer with Romelu Lukaku nearing the exit.
Inter Milan's sporting director Piero Ausilio confirmed on Thursday night that the club have made an official approach to United for the Belgian.
Lukaku has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer after losing his place at the forefront of United's attack last season.
Antonio Conte has made Lukaku his priority in the summer window as he looks to overhaul his attack following his arrival at the San Siro.
