A teenage girl was beheaded by a relative in northern Afghanistan after she refused to marry him, police said on Wednesday.
“Gisa, 15, was beheaded on Tuesday by her cousin Sadeq, in Khanabad district of Kunduz province after she and her family refused to allow the girl to marry him,”’police spokesman Sayed Sarwar Hosseini said.
Sadeq confessed that he killed the girl after she and her family rejected his request to marry her in spite of repeated appeals, Hosseini said.
“On Tuesday, Sadeq and his friend, Massoud, entered the girl’s house. When they found out she was alone, they beheaded her with a knife.”
Meanwhile, it will be recalled that Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year-old Pakistani girl was shot by the Taliban because of her campaign for girl education.
She was targeted and nearly killed by the Taliban for supporting education for girls.
I like how it says 'after she and her family refused to allow the girl to marry him' AS IF the girl has any stupid choice at all !!
ReplyDeleteIf her father had ordered her to marry him, and she said no, then her own father or brother would have killed her. If she had wanted to marry that cousin, and her father did not give permission, she can't say yes - and her cousin's family would have killed her anyway.
If she and her cousin were in love and ran away to get married, against the permission of their families, they both would have been killed.
YOU CAN'T WIN as a girl in that digusting, woman hating, child marriage, acid face burning, christian murdering, young girls included in land dispute settlements just like camels, goods, money & farm animals, pathetic EXCUSE for a country.
