On the December 16, 2011 episode of “The View”, which Goldberg is a co-host of (since 2007), Elisabeth Hasselbeck was doing a segment on stay at home moms working as phone sex operators. Specifically, she was covering the fact that the number of moms working as phone sex operators is on the rise. Beyonce has opened up about her heartbreaking miscarriage for the first time, it was revealed on Thursday.
The 31-year-old, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, addresses the tragedy in her upcoming HBO documentary, Life Is But a Dream.
She suffered the loss several years before the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012.
'About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time,' she says in a preview.

'And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.'
'I picked out names,' she recalls.
'I envisioned what my child would look like.. I was feeling very maternal.'
She lost the child in the early stages of her pregnancy.
'I flew back to New York to get my check up - and no heartbeat,' she says.
'Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat.'
The star, who married Jay-Z in April 2008, turned to music to help her get through her pain.

Authorities searched Friday for a convicted murderer from Indiana who was mistakenly released after a Chicago court appearance, as officials in Illinois admitted they lost paperwork directing them to return him to Indiana.

It turned out Steven L. Robbins didn't even need to be brought to Chicago in the first place, and Cook County officials on Friday also pointed fingers over who was responsible for that mistake.

Robbins, 44, was serving a 60-year sentence for murder in Indiana and was escorted by Cook County sheriff's deputies to Chicago this week for a court appearance in a separate case involving drug and armed violence charges — a case that had actually been dismissed in 2007.

A Victoria's Secret shop assistant was scarred for life when a mysterious figure wearing a niqab threw acid in her face as she walked home from work.
Naomi Oni, 20, was left with severe burns on her head, neck, arms, legs and body after she was attacked in Dagenham, east London.
She has spent the past month having skin grafts and almost went blind, although she has now recovered her vision in her left eye and has partial sight in her right.

Her attacker was dressed like a Muslim woman in a niqab, so Ms Oni could not see their face. Police have no idea who was responsible for the vicious attack, or why they did it.

Mourners nearly died of shock when a 101-year-old woman sat up and spoke - as she was being put in her coffin.

Peng Xiuhua asked why so many people were in her house in Lianjiang, Guangdong province, China.

Peng, who lived alone, had taken a tumble and hurt herself so her two daughters, who are in their 70s, were looking after her.

However, 10 days later her daughters could not detect a heartbeat and her body had gone stiff so she was declared dead.

The daughters gave her a bath, an undertaker dressed her and they were about to put her in her coffin when she came back to life.

Peng said: “I am a lucky woman.

"Not only did I get to see how many people care for me, but I also woke up before they took me to the crematorium,” she said.

The findings, presented Monday, Dec. 17 at the annual meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology in San Francisco, show for the first time that mechanical forces alone can revert and stop the out-of-control growth of cancer cells. This change happens even though the genetic mutations responsible for malignancy remain, setting up a nature-versus-nurture battle in determining a cell’s fate.

Farouk Lawan Charged With Bribery And Corruption, Remanded To Jail

Lawan Farouk and Boniface Emenalo, both Chairman and Secretary of Nigeria’s House of Representatives Adhoc Committee for the probe of the oil subsidy regime were on Friday arraigned before an Abuja High Court on a seven count charge for allegedly soliciting for and obtaining the sum of $620,000 from businessman Femi Otedola, chairman of Zenon Oil.
Both lawmakers pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Such growths have also been discovered on the skull, sacrum, scrotum, and mouth. Her case was the first time organs from a twin had been discovered growing from a person's back.

Beyoncé Knowles held a press conference in New Orleans on Thursday where she talked about her highly anticipated Super Bowl half-time performance. But first, the singer addressed the elephant in the room.
When Beyonce walked on stage she asked the audience to rise, then proceeding to give an impeccable, LIVE acapella performance of the National Anthem. After she finished she asked the audience, simply, “Any questions?”
And questions the media indeed had! Knowles was drilled multiple times to explain what exactly happened at the Presidential Inauguration.
“I am a perfectionist and one thing about me, I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra, it was a live television show," Knowles explained. "Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check I did not feel comfortable taking the risk."

You led the pack of actors and actresses to Ondo State during the re-election campaign of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko as the state governor, but your decision was said to have pitched you against some of your colleagues in the industry who campaigned for Rotimi Akeredolu. What informed your decision?
I have promised not to talk about this issue again because of the unnecessary dust it raised prior to the election and afterwards. The truth of the matter is that I did not vote for the party but for an individual whose style of leadership I so much love. I have known the governor before the election and I had been planning to do some projects with the state government before the election, but when I was invited by the governor to lead his campaign team, I couldn’t have said no. And, let me make something clear to you today and some people who have been going around spreading false tales about my relationship with the governor, I don’t regret voting for him and I will never regret my decision.

Two suspected children from hell have been arrested in Anambra State for allegedly kidnapping their father. The two brothers, Ifeanyi and Obinna, aged 44 and 33 respectively, were arrested by the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), led by Supol James Nwafor, after they were implicated in the alleged abduction of their father, Chief Mike Onwukamuche.
The two sons were said to have demanded for N5 million ransom from their father. According to investigation, the 74-year-old victim was abducted in Ojota and taken to Obosi and was allegedly held hostage for one week by the suspects. Both Ifeanyi, who was the victim’s heir and his younger brother, Obinna, according to investigation decided to kidnap their father because he did not give them money to support the upkeep of their families when they requested.

MAKURDI - THE Benue State Police Command, yesterday, arrested the pastor of a new generation church in Katsina-Ala (names withheld) for illegal possession of fire arms and assault on the church's accountant.

Two brothers who masterminded a £244,000 fraud from their council house bedroom have been jailed for a total of 10 years.

The criminals spent most of the cash from the 12-month scam on luxury holidays, cars and designer clothes, including Louis Vuitton flip flops ' to the tune of £1,000 a pair', Blackfriars Crown Court heard.
The brothers also went on shopping sprees at Selfridges and Harrods as well as drinking champagne at nightclubs in London's West End.

Both Syrian and Iran are making bold threats following a surprise Israeli airstrike in Syrian territory on Wednesday.

Justin Bieber's Ferrari is currently in repair shop ICU, after his good buddy, Lil Twist, bottomed out as he peeled out of the Four Seasons driveway in Beverly Hills ... and we've learned the hotel is shockingly footing the bill.

As we first reported ... Justin and Twist were staying at the Four Seasons on New Year's Day, when Twist took the car for a spin on the 405 Freeway and got stopped by the CHP. As the deputy dealt with Twist, a paparazzo who was taking pics of the scene was struck and killed by a motorist.

Turns out ... when Twist left the Four Seasons driveway, he caused $8,000 to $10,000 worth of damage to the whip. It's pretty amazing, because that driveway doesn't really have any hidden dangers.

Nonetheless ... sources tell TMZ ... the hotel has agreed to pay the bill to maintain its lucrative relationship with Justin.

Like he doesn't have enough money ... and by the way, why isn't Twist paying?

Blackberry has unveiled its first entirely touchscreen smartphone, in a desperate attempt to rival the iPhone and revive its flagging sales.
The company, once the brand of choice for business customers, has struggled in recent years to compete against Apple and other rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy.
Its market share has dropped dramatically from 41 per cent in 2007, the year the iPhone was launched, to just 4 per cent in the first quarter of last year.

But the firm says the new model, the Z10, has been ‘reinvented’ and offers much better internet, music, camera and email facilities.
The phone goes on sale in the UK first, from today. It will cost from £36 a month on a contract – the same as the 16GB version of the iPhone 5.
It also resembles the iPhone physically, with a large touchscreen. It has a new operating system, the BlackBerry 10, and its makers say the phone is aimed at ‘the true multitasker’.

Dutch Court Orders Shell Nigeria To Compensate Nigerian Fish Farmer

In a landmark trial brought against the Royal Dutch Shell Plc., Europe’s largest oil company in a Dutch court by Nigerian farmers and campaign group Friends of the Earth, a verdict has been reached finding Shell guilty in one case and dismissing the four others.
The suits was filed in 2008 at The Hague, where Shell has its global headquarters, seeking damages for lost income from contaminated land and waterways in the Niger-Delta region, where Nigeria’s oil industry is sited.
The Nigerians – fishermen and farmers – said they could no longer feed their families because the region had been polluted by oil from Shell’s pipelines and production facilities.

FTER paying public workers' salaries last week, the balance in cash-strapped Zimbabwe's government public account stood at just $217, Finance Minister Tendai Biti said on Tuesday.

"Last week, when we paid civil servants there was $217 (left) in government coffers," Mr Biti told journalists in the capital Harare, claiming some of them had healthier bank balances than the state.

"The government finances are in a paralysis state at the present moment. We are failing to meet our targets."
