According to The Nation, Policemen from the Oko-Oba division in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos State last Sunday February 21st arrested the General Overseer of the Victorious Sacred Solemn Healing and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Oluwaseyi Idowu, for allegedly impregnating two sisters. The pastor was invited to set up his church and manage a flat in the two sisters’ father’s compound when he had accommodation problems in Agege.

There was outrage on Tuesday by pensioners of the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State after a local government pensioner, identified as Sunday Oboite, slumped and died during screening.

It was learnt that Oboite, 75, died at the reception of the local government secretariat.

It was gathered that the late pensioner, who retired from the Works department of the council, was at the secretariat for screening which the council had directed the pensioners to undertake before they would be paid their 10-month pension arrears.

Naira Gains 30%, Sells For N250/Dollar

The Naira gained about 30 per cent on Wednesday against the dollar at the parallel market to trade between N250 and N280 from N364 at which it sold on Tuesday ending two weeks of free fall when it peaked at N403 against the greenback at the parallel market last week Thursday.

The local currency had begun a gradual recovery on Friday, firmed sharply at the parallel market yesterday as retail traders, having anticipated a cut in its official rate and stocked up on dollars, bought the local currency back after the government said it would not devalue.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) believes the cash was splashed on choice property. Former Interior Minister Abba Moro and four others are to stand trial for allegedly collecting fraudulently N676.6million from 676,675 job seekers.

N200 Per Dollar Proposal: Ifeanyi Ubah Stakes N500bn Assets - Ubah’s Magic Working Already As Dollar Dips To N305 After His Challenge

The Chairman of Capi­tal Oil and Gas Servic­es Limited, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, on Tuesday staked his N500 billion assets on his proposal to the Federal Gov­ernment to stem the free fall of the Naira against the Dollar.

Ubah said if given the op­portunity by the government, he would halt the slide of the na­tional currency and bring it back to N200 to the dollar within one month.
