Stray Dogs Stage Sit-In On Busy Road After Car Runs One Over

A pack of strays staged a defiant sit-in on a busy road after one of the dogs was mowed down by a car.

The five animals were crossing the road in Lanzhou, central China when one dog was hit. Despite making it to safety on the other side, the four dogs ran back to their friend’s side as cars sped by.

Special Adviser to Governor Ambode, Deji Tinubu Slumps, Dies

The Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Mr Deji Tinubu, died this evening. He is the elder brother of Wale Tinubu, Oando PLC Group Chief Executive.

He slumped while taking part in football at the ongoing retreat/meeting organised by the Lagos State Government for members of its State Executive Council in Epe.

Deji Tinubu was immediately rushed to Epe General Hospital after he slumped. He was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, arrested one Fidelis Iruedo, a suspected love scammer, for allegedly defrauded a United Kingdom.citizen of £30,000 (N15,428,354) in a romance scam.

Luck ran out of Iruedo, 31, after a petition to the Commission by the Nigerian High Commission, London, on behalf of one Alan Digweed, a UK citizen, alleging that the suspect had defrauded his victim of the said amount of money.

Investigations by the EFCC revealed that Iruedo, who voluntarily confessed to the crime, met his victim between July and December 2017, via a date site, match.com.

Reactions have continued to trail a letter by a former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo to Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari advising him not to seek reelection in 2019.

Obasanjo who spoke in a strong-worded statement issued on Tuesday, January 23, said the president has performed below expectation and should perish the thought of continuing in power.


“He has a role to play on the sideline for the good of Nigeria, Africa, and humanity and I will see him as a partner in playing such a role nationally and internationally, but not as a horse rider in Nigeria again”, Obasanjo said.
