There was a bizarre case of mistaken identity as Arsenal embarrassingly capitulated in Arsene Wenger's 1,000th match in charge in a 6-0 loss to Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Police Smash Another Baby-Making Factory In Ogun [Photo]

The Ogun State Police Command, yesterday paraded 10 suspects over their involvement in the running of a baby making factory located at Sebanjo Crescent, Fagbunle Bus Stop at Akute area of the state.

Eight of the suspects were pregnant ladies between the ages of 16 and 21.

It was learnt that the factory was being operated by the prime suspect, Angela Chidozie, who also lived in the four-bedroom bungalow with her husband and children. Her husband is said to be currently at large.

19 Redeemed Church Members, 36 Others Burnt In Accident [Warning! Graphic Photos]

A multiple crash on the Potiskum-Maiduguri highway, involving three vehicles, Monday, killed 35 people, including 19 church members on their way back from Lagos, where they attended a religious meeting.

“All the 19 members of Redeemed Christian Church of God, who were travelling in one bus, were burnt beyond recognition as the bus caught fire on collision with the other two vehicles which also burst into flames shortly afterward,” said Yusuf Sani, spokesman of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, in Yobe State.

Now, The House of Representatives has ordered an investigation into the alleged squandering of billions of naira of government funds by petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, on the maintenance of the private jet.

The public accounts committee of the House is to examine whether Mrs. Alison-Madueke, one of the most controversial members of President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet, has spent N10 billion of state funds in the last two years to charter, operate and maintain a jet for her personal use.
The lawmaker who tabled the motion for approval, Samuel Adejare, representing Lagos State, said the allegation was based on “reliable evidence” indicating that Mrs. Alison-Madueke has committed about 500,000 Euros (N130 million naira) monthly to maintain the aircraft, solely for her personal needs and those of her immediate family.

For 21 years, Andy Phillips (right) believed that Jordan was his son. When the baby was born, he held him in his arms and loved him. But two years ago, Jordan arrived on his doorstep and told him the result of a DNA test: 'You're not my dad.' That devastating moment marked the beginning of two hellish years for Andy, during which he has struggled to understand why he was so terribly deceived by Jordan's mother, 42-year-old Andrea Roberts. He remembers buying him his first drum kit and watching amazed as his little boy immediately beat in perfect time to Hey Jude! by The Beatles.

Overriding all of these happy memories, however, is the terrible day, two years ago, when a 21-year-old Jordan turned up on Andy's doorstep in Telford, Shropshire, with a piece of paper in his back pocket.

'It was a DNA test,' recalls 43-year-old Andy. 'Jordan said there was something he had to tell me. He paused, and then he said: "You're not my dad." '

That devastating moment marked the beginning of two hellish years for Andy, during which he has struggled to understand why he was so terribly deceived by Jordan's mother, 42-year-old Andrea Roberts.

Forced to pay child maintenance after they separated when Jordan was seven, Andy believes that Andrea suspected for years that the boy was not really his son.

And while Andrea this week agreed to pay Andy £19,000 in a last-minute out-of-court legal settlement after he brought a claim for the psychological damage her deceit has caused him, Andy says there are no victors in this sorry story - least of all Jordan, who has been bounced between his  warring 'parents'.

Indeed, the court case has caused such bitterness that Jordan, now 23 and a drummer in a band, is no longer speaking to the man he once called Dad, despite Andy's insistence he still loves him like a son. 

'He doesn't want to know me,' Andy says. 'It's as if I've lost him twice over.'

While Andy, an engineer, is still undergoing counselling to cope with the trauma of discovering that Jordan is not his son, Andrea says she too has suffered. She insists she didn't know for certain that Jordan was not Andy's son until a DNA test in October 2011 confirmed the truth. 'I was 18,' she told the Mail. 'I can't believe that what happened when I was so young is still haunting me all these years later.'

In a heartfelt letter she sent to Andy after he discovered the truth two years ago, she wrote: 'I truly didn't have a plan at 18 years old, but as a terrified, immature, confused girl whose own father turned his back on me, I took each day and tried to do what was best at the time. You and I were together and that's how I wanted it to be. I'm not a bad person and wouldn't want to hurt anyone.'

In yet another twist to the story, she is now in a relationship with Jordan's  biological father - her former childhood sweetheart.

So how did this confused and sad state of affairs come to pass? According to legal documents seen by the Mail, the seeds of deceit were sown almost right from the start of Andy and Andrea's relationship.

They met in a pub in Glossop in Derbyshire in the summer of 1989 when Andrea was 17 and Andy 19. They had gone to the same comprehensive in the town but barely remembered each other from their schooldays.

Thieves in Salford have stolen a significant amount of cash from an ATM after digging a 50ft tunnel under a building to get to the cash.

The theft happened between midnight and 6am on Friday 14 March 2014 at the cash machine at Tesco on Liverpool Road, Eccles.

The thieves tunnelled under nearby wasteland overnight and in to the shop, where they stole cash boxes containing a substantial sum of money. The thieves then disappeared back through the tunnel and escaped with the cash.

 3-year-old Mateo rocketed to Internet fame after his mother, Linda Beltran, uploaded a YouTube video of him begging her for a cupcake for dinner.

“Linda, honey, just listen to me,” says Mateo to his mother. Beltran says her son calls her Linda when he’s “very serious,” and he wants to make sure she’s listening to him.

After viewing the video last week, Ellen Degeneres made a plea for Linda to bring Mateo on her show. Beltran and a more subdued Mateo appeared on the show yesterday.

After failing to get the obviously overwhelmed 3-year-old to behave like the witty, spontaneous kid she saw in the video, Ellen finally gives up.

“Since you flew all the way here to see me, we’re going to give you some cupcakes,” says Ellen.

The is a sad commentary on how society (and single mothers) encourages and rewards children for their bad behavior.

Emeka Ike is in the News again and this time it doesn't have to do with his school but his wife, Emma and four kids, Michael,  Kelly,  Jason  and Andrea - family.
This is coming in weeks after he was sent packing by his landlord after owing him house rent for over three years.

 Reports indicate that Emeka Ike took  two of the kids with him to Abuja while the wife is left with the other two in Lagos.

"To say she and her two kids are going through hell is an understatement. I am pained that he would subject her to such a degrading level of existence and go free.There have been allegations also that there is a lot of spousal abuse going on but I cannot out-rightly say that because the woman has not come out herself to cry out. It is a pity that some men are babies and use children as scape goats to carry out revenge against their spouses…hisses!" she wrote.

EFCC Arrests 4 Undergraduates, 3 Others For Internet Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested four undergraduates and three others for alleged involvement in Internet scam.
They were arrested in two different locations in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The undergraduates are: Otuyalo Damilola, a 400 level student of Computer Science of Lead City University, Ibadan; Adegbuyi Michael, an undergraduate of University of Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia; Ibrahim Aruna, a student of Mineral Resources Engineering, Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State and Adeosun Matthew, a 200 level student of Banking and Finance, University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Others are Afolabi Ayodele, Balogun Olumuyiwa and Abiola Okunola.

Boko Haram: 13 Northern Governors In Washington DC To Seek Help From US Govt.

Thirteen governors of the North are in the United States searching for help against the Boko Haram insurgency. They met yesterday for eight hours at the United States Peace Institute and the State Department in Washington DC. with U.S. government officials and representatives of Norway and Denmark. 
Details of the first round of the closed-door meeting, which was sponsored by the U.S. government in collaboration with the governments of Norway and Denmark, could not be obtained last night. 
The meetings are expected to continue till tomorrow. The Peace Institute said the biggest issue discussed was how Nigeria could overcome the Boko Haram insurgency, especially through education and economic investments.

Villagers in Kenya have chased down and captured two cheetahs that were killing their goats.

The goat's owner has told the BBC that, the cheetahs had been preying on the animals one by one, day by day.

Four men in the north-east of the African nation chased down the cats over a distance of four miles.

By the end the cheetahs, the fastest-running animals on Earth, were so tired they could not run anymore.

The villagers captured them alive before safely handing them over to the Kenya Wildlife Service.

A Zimbabwe man who caught two goats having sex, beats up male goat, and was caught raping the female goat.

Fortune Moyo, a 23-year-old herdman at Wichlia Farm in Kwekwe, was last Friday convicted on his own plea of guilty to bestiality when he appeared before magistrate Letwin Rwoodzi, myzimbabwe.co.zw reported.

The court heard that Moyo, a widower, was caught pants down being intimate with a she-goat on March 11 after he got sexually aroused on seeing the animals mating.

A top aide to President Vladimir Putin has laughed off the sanctions imposed by the US, saying the only thing he likes about America is Tupac, and he "doesn't need a visa" to listen to rap music.

Vladislav Surkov, one of the seven Russian officials slapped with White House sanctions, told a Russian newspaper being on America's blacklist is a "big honour" for him.

He added: "The only things that interest me in the US are Tupac Shakur, Allen Ginsberg, and Jackson Pollock. I don’t need a visa to access their work. I lose nothing."

Hu Mou and his wife were driving a small tricycle but ignored a red light on February 5. 

In the photograph their bodies are captured being hurtled into the air after they are hit by a car. 

The tricycle which they were riding was completely destroyed and neither Mou or his wife survived the crashed.

Ecobank Worker, Babatunde Oke Who Died In Police Custody Buried As Controversy Surrounds Autopsy.

According to Punch: Ecobank Nigeria Plc worker, Babatunde Oke, who died in the police custody, has been buried. He was laid to rest in his hometown in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State on Saturday afternoon as the family vowed to unravel the cause of his death.

PUNCH Metro had reported on February 24, 2014 that Babatunde died after being detained at the Falomo Police Division over allegation of N1.2m theft. His employers had alleged that while he was the head teller at the bank’s Ladipo branch, Babatunde had stolen the sum from the Automated Teller Machine.
