Kano Govt Sacks Commissioner Of Works And Infrastructure, Who Was Jubilating Over The Death of Abba Kyari

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has relieved the Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Muazu Magaji, of his appointment following his reaction to the death of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

Recall that Magaji had on his Facebook account sympathised with the Federal government, his family over the death of Abba Kyari,

He, however, stated that “we pray this time around, may God gives us a good CoS.”

The commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, in a statement on Saturday, noted that the commissioner was relieved of his duty following his unguarded utterances against Kyari.

The Kano State Commissioner while reacting to the death of Kyari noted that Nigeria is now free.

Magaji in a post on Facebook on Saturday noted that the late Chief of Staff was so powerful that he decides the fate of Nigerians.

The commissioner in his post wrote: “Win-win. Nigeria is free. You can’t change history. You are who you are, and what you do define who you are dead or alive!”

Abba Kyari Buried In Abuja Today (Photos)

The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Abba Kyari, who died on Friday, April the 17th, has now been buried.

His remains were brought in an ambulance to the Defence House in Abuja, where family members, as well as his colleagues, gathered to pay their last respect.

He was laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja.

The news of his death was announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in the early hours of today.

Another of the President’s spokespersons, Mr Garba Shehu, also tweeted about the development.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, and Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, have expressed shock to the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.

In a separate tweet on Saturday morning, the three politicians paid tributes to the departed CoS.

Kyari died on Friday at age 81, The PUNCH reports.

Kyari, who was in his 70s and had underlying health problems, including diabetes, was the top official aide to 77-year-old President Muhammadu Buhari and one of the most powerful men in the country.

“The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari,” said presidency spokesman Garba Shehu in a tweet on Friday, using an honorific title for Kyari.

Trump hyped the decision on Twitter, after saying for days it would soon become time to 'reopen' the U.S. economy. Trump is setting up a new task force on reopening, with an announcement planned for Tuesday. 'A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!' 

The task force is expected to include Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared, who has taken a key coronavirus response role, fielding calls from hot-spots seeking protective gear and trying to line up deliveries. Meanwhile, New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday he is contacting a regional group of governors to set criteria and plans for reopening. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (bottom left) has been among those who have publicly clamored for new protective gear for hospital workers in their states.

French president Macron extends lockdown for a MONTH until May 11 but promises 'joyous days are ahead' - as he apologises for 'not being prepared enough' for coronavirus battle

French President Emmanuel Macron tonight apologised for his government 'not being prepared enough' for the coronavirus crisis as he extended lockdown until May 11. 

The head of state said that restrictions that started on March 17 would be enforced as strictly as possible until the middle of next month and that 'joyous days were ahead'.

In a prime time TV address to the nation from the Elysée Palace in Paris, Mr Macron said: 'We must, therefore, continue our efforts and continue to apply the rules.

'The more they are respected, the more lives will be saved. This is why the strictest confinement must still continue until Monday, May 11.

Buhari Extends Lockdown In Lagos, Abuja, Ogun By 14 Days

The President has just announced that the Lockdown has been extended in Lagos, Ogun state and Abuja for another 14days. President Muhammad Buhari made it known on live TV broadcast NTA. He encourage social distancing, maintaining good hygiene while the lockdown is going on.

In my address on Sunday, 29th March, 2020, I asked the residents of Lagos and Ogun States as well as the Federal Capital Territory to stay at home for an initial period of fourteen days starting from Monday, 30th March 2020.

Many State Governments also introduced similar restrictions.

As your democratically elected leaders, we made this very difficult decision knowing fully well it will severely disrupt your livelihoods and bring undue hardship to you, your loved ones and your communities.

However, such sacrifices are needed to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our country. They were necessary to save lives.

Coronavirus: UK Enters Fourth Week Of Lockdown Ahead Of Review

The UK is facing its fourth week in lockdown, with the government set to review by Thursday whether social distancing measures can be changed.

Ministers are required by law to assess whether the rules are working, based on expert advice, after three weeks of telling Britons to stay at home.

On Sunday, the UK's total number of hospital deaths reached 10,612.

It comes as Boris Johnson thanked NHS staff after being discharged from hospital on Sunday.

Mr Johnson had spent a week at St Thomas' Hospital in London - including three nights in intensive care - where he was being treated for COVID-19 - the disease caused by the coronavirus.

Another Nigerian Doctor Adefolu Adedeji Dies of Coronavirus in UK

Another Nigerian medical doctor, Edmond Adefolu Adedeji, has died in the UK, killed by acoronavirus.

Adedeji died on Thursday 9 April. He was 62.

He was the latest of Nigerian professionals to succumb to the virus.

Adedeji was a well ‘respected and well-liked’ doctor at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, before his death.

According to an ITV news report, Adedeji, was working as a locum registrar in the Emergency Department of the Hospital.

The picture of the man below is one of a 3-5 man gang robbing and looting people’s houses inward Abraham Adesanya/Sangotedo area of ibeju Lekki.

CCTV footage was able to let us know that they’ve been in the area of the robbery below for as much as 5 hours scouting and looking at several houses for where and who to rob.

The compound where this footage was provided reported they made away with Generators and Almost 30 litres of fuel, while some other houses lost their AC Units and Generators too.
